MAC Magically Cool Liquid Powder in Truth & Light

I just want to get this out of the way so i'll make a short review...

I'm trying to make up for my lost blogging time by posting up some of the products that i had been using but just haven't made a review on. It just dawned on me that my pictures are accumulating all because i haven't been blogging as much as i want to.

Ok, first things first, this product that i bought late last year as a part of my Christmas gift for myself... haha!

I have been a fan of any face products that has a cooling sensation. I said before the time when this was first released on the Venomous Villains Collection that i will be getting it by every time i drop by MAC, it's not available. I was so happy when they decided to permanently have this one. Yay!

MAC claims that it is formulated with 70% water...
Interesting,huh?

They have 3 shades available which are Truth & Light, Honey Rose & Cajun.

Cajun is too dark for me, while Honey Rose is more of a shimmery finish rather than a blush.

Truth & Light, while it is a sheer shimmer, you could easily use it as an all-over powder as long as you don't put too much. It is really finely milled so it can easily blend on the skin without it being too shimmery unlike other highlighters. It sinks on your skin that would result in a dewy finish rather than shimmery so that's really good!

I'm sorry, hunnies, but i lost my pics of it so i'll just be linking this post over to Temptalia so that you can take a look at the swatches. Pls click HERE to be directed to it.

I used mine as a finishing powder.
Yes, i can dust it all over my face .. yay for that!

I would hesitate using this if i still have a bad skin condition but since my skin is way way better than before, so i can get away with sheer shimmery product as a setting powder. I will not recommend it if you have large pores, acne marks/scars & also fine lines. Since this will just enhance things that you wanted to hide.

It works great as a subtle highlighter if you dust it twice on the area that you want to highlight.
I prefer using my Drizzlegold in highlighting though because it has a better shimmer effect compare to this. I think Honey Rose is better suited for highlighting than this.

As for the cooling sensation, it's not that strong. I was expecting that it would provide something like a chilling sensation! hahaha!
This is more of like a breezy sensation if there is one. lol!
It still feels nice though.

Now, one thing about this is that it has a funky smell.
I guess it got something to do with it being made up of 70% water. It doesn't smell bad but it has that different smell & it gets stronger as time passes by. It's not really bad but it just smells different. i can't explain the scent though... hmmm...

That's it! haha!
Told you this would be a short review.

PROS:
  • has a cooling sensation
  • dual-purpose; can work as a highlighter or setting powder
  • its MAC so packaging is sleek & sturdy
CONS:
  • a bit expensive - $30 a pop
  • has a funky smell
Will i recommend?
Sure, especially if you are a fan of products that has cooling sensation but otherwise, you can just buy a cheaper highlighter. hehehe

This was my last MAC purchase.
I'm not that much into cosmetics these days because my nail art addiction is currently the one that's active..haha!

Are you a fan of products that has cooling sensation?

Hope you all are enjoying your day!

Christmas haul~

Can you believe that it's only a couple more hours before Christmas?!
Time flies...  really flies!

I just want to post my Christmas gifts that i got for myself.
Why did i buy gifts for myself?

It's because these would be the last items that i'll be getting for myself. I promised myself that unless i completed my Make-up Artist kit, i will not buy anything for myself that's why i went all out & gave in to the items that i have been dying to get.

So my "project mua kit" will start next year... actually, that's also saying that it will start now, except for the things that i really do need i won't be buying any personal make-up items for the time being. I would have to get all the Graftobian palettes if i want to have good quality cosmetics & they are not cheap. haha!

Anyway, on we go with my small haul. You all know that i try to only buy & use products that are budget-friendly but since this is going to be my last purchase for the meantime so i decided to splurge a little. hehe

A very handy yet captivating eyeshadow palette & my most coveted finishing powder!

I have always wanted to try the MAC cool liquid powder ever since it was first released in the Venomous Villain Collection but i wasn't able to buy it back then & i really really regret not getting it because i love anything that has cooling sensation!

I'm so glad that due to public demand MAC made it as a part of their permanent line! w00t w00t!
Sugoi!!! Awesome!!!

I had to ask a friend to buy this for me in Singapore because it's quite expensive here in the Philippines. Hey, it's the most expensive time of the year & i have to save up every centavo. haha!

She even gave me some MAC pamphlets!
I love that it has pro tips written on it.

I always love MAC's packaging.
It's so simple yet sleek!

Thanks so much, hun!
You made my christmas a really enjoyable one. I shrieked when i opened the package! Thanks for the glue remover too!

I have been searching high & low for this Daiso glue remover here & it's so dang difficult to find!
Love you, sweetie!
*hugs*
Thanks again!

Then the Sun Palette Horizon by YSL is THE palette that i have wanted ever since just because i love bright shadows (though i don't do eye make-up tut nowadays) & this palette just screams color!!!!!

Housed in a really cute brown velvet pouch with the sponge applicator nestled in the tiny pocket, it is just so luxurious!

Don't you think the colors are just dee-vine?!
My heart skipped a bit when i swatched it.

It looks so pretty i'm really so hesitant on swatching it for fear of destroying the pattern.. haha!
But my fingers are too big for this adorable palette, i ended up messing a stripe on the teal shadow. It's ok because if i didn't i might end up not using it.

I was lucky enough to order this palette at Strawberrynet.com since this was a limited edition so when i saw that it was available i didn't hesitate clicking the buy now button because it screamed at me to take it home!
LOL!

This has been sitting on my "kikay kit" ever since i got it & i L-O-V-E it!
*dies*
I'm so happy that i was able to snag it!

I think i still have a couple of things that i haven't shared with you guys but that'll keep until the next posts... nothing major though. hehe. Wish me luck on the "personal make-up ban" that i have promised myself. I know that mostly when you make a promise that's when temptations really sets in,right?
tsk!

I'll be very busy tomorrow because it's Christmas Eve already. I figure so you'll be,right?
I just hope that you'll have a very happy Christmas celebration!

Have a happy holidays, peeps!

MAC Talk: Creme D' Nude & Speak Louder

I am so excited today because i got 2 new MAC lipsticks. I woke up extra early just so to be able to be take it home with me as early as possible & start swatching. I have heard so much of these shades & had high hopes for them. Well, at least one of them is really great, but not the other one.

Yep, Speak Louder & the much raved about Creme d' Nude.
Speak Louder is L-O-V-E!
I am in love with this lipstick! I'll tell you more about it later.

I have said before that finding a good nude lipstick is hard because what works for one might not work for the other. That is exactly the same with Creme d' Nude. I have high hopes for this lipstick which seems to be well-liked by a lot of girls. Sadly, it just doesn't work for me.

The obligatory swatch...hahaha! That's just one swipe each.

This is how it looks like on my lips...

I think Speak Louder can suit most skin tones. It is a perfect go-to lipstick. If you are not yet bold enough to don red lips, then go for a pink one! It's actually a bit hard to really capture the beauty of this lipstick, MAC defines it as "Clean Poppy Blue Pink" though i don't know what the heck poppy blue pink means.

I know the poppy flower, but i thought poppies are somehow reddish or yellow/orange-ish?! What's with the "clean" word? I mean, i know there's dirty white... is there a dirty pink? Isn't it classified as old rose?! Anyway, whatever the description is, i would just classify it as a bright pink. It's very wearable that you can don it from day to night!

It can give you an instantly brighter look! You don't believe me? Let the picture speak for itself...

This is me without any make-up on my face. I just swiped this on my lips twice & i'm all done!
Yes, my acne is gone now!
I still have a few marks & blemishes left, but i can now go out without applying any foundation on! I am soooooo happy!

Going back, see how Speak Louder made me look almost-ready to brave the world without bothering to apply any other make-up.

Now, Creme d' Nude is a different story...

It gave me that cadaver-look! Eeeekkkkk!!!!! What the effffff???!!!!!

Pardon the pose, i tried taking a picture of it while smiling but it just made me look so fugly that i tried other poses so that it won't look half as bad with the smiling one & this is by far the "best" among the ugly bunch..hahaha! Anyway, what you are looking at is the lipstick, isn't it? XD

I read that this is perfect for NC20 & since i am a NC20 so i got myself one, but then it's one of the worst move that i made in buying lipsticks! This would only be good for those that doesn't have pigmented lips. My lips are quite pigmented, using this alone will result in it looking patchy & awful. I applied lip concealer underneath to show the true color & it's so muted that it even "muted" my lips out!
LOL!

MAC described it as "pale muted peach beige", i agree with the description. It's a pale peach beige that muted my lips out making me look like i don't even have lips for it washed it out! Definitely not for me! The only way i can make this work for me is if i'm going to top it off with a colored gloss, but since i'm not really a fan of gloss as starters, the chances are quite dim.

I said before that i love Dazzleglasses but i don't see myself buying another one to be used exclusively together with Creme d' Nude! *sigh*
Blankety is still THE nude lipstick for me.

These are my first Cremesheen finish & i am liking it. I love Amplified Cremes & also Satins but since i like the texture of Speak Louder, i think i would have to look into Cremesheens more. No more nude shades from Cremesheens or Lustres. I have tried it & it just doesn't work on me. I'll just go into deeper/brighter colors only.

I'm not sure if i am going to keep Creme d' Nude or just add it up on my blogsale though.

Anyway, at least Speak Louder made up for the disappointment that Creme d' Nude caused me. It just made me 10x prettier with it on!hahaha!

Next lipstick on my list now is Pink Nouveau then NARS Schiap...
I have to find the best pink shades!
I think my wallet is already cringing in fear already because of my plans..LOL!

Hope you are enjoying your evening/day,guys!

Weekend haul:going ga-ga over nail polish & mac dazzleglass~

I went to SM North Edsa because my mum asked me to buy her a printer... aside from that, i also heard from my nail art group that Elianto's polishes are on sale. Being a true blue girl at heart, i have a weakness for the word "sale" so i happily asked Walter to accompany me even though he already had a very tiring Saturday. hehehe

Walter delivered his usual line every time i try to buy nail polish... he said in tagalog, "diba meron ka ng ganyang kulay?" (you already have that color, right?) & i would automatically reply "wala pa, light/dark kasi yung sakin e" (none yet, mine is light/dark) hehehe. I especially love looking at the array of nail polishes in the store for it's so colorful!

Anyway, the Elianto Spakling Diva nail polish collection which was regularly priced at Php 199 is on sale for only Php 69 at SM department store area, while it's Php 59 only at the free standing store in SM Annex. When you buy 5 pcs at the department store you will get 1 polish for only Php 1, so basically, it's just the same price.

The other day i was in Homesavers & the Ottie nail polishes have caught my attention so i bought 2, a base coat & the Diana nail polish as well. They are all korean nail polishes.

from left to right: elianto-glittery nickel, shining ebony, burnt amber. base coat, olive, bronzy
diana-1133
ottie-metal silver, tender apricot, pure base (base coat)

My nail polish collection is steadily growing! It makes me so happy just looking at them~

Since i was in the mall, i did not pass up the opportunity to  drop by Etude House to check if they have the Proof 10 primer & they do~! They only have 4 & i grabbed 2 already... har har har~!

I don't have any plan in buying mascara but when i saw that the Oh m'Eye Lash Double up Longlash is a fiber mascara so i added it on my basket. I hurriedly paid for my purchases because i feel like if i am going to linger in the store longer my wallet would be in danger. I saw that they have a cherry blossom cleansing oil (reminds me of Shu Uemura~!), water based sunblock & also the jelly top coat. Good thing that the claw of temptation wasn't able to fully grasp me.!

*wipes forehead*
(-__-")
Yokatta ne!
My wallet was able to come out in one piece! LOL

Last but definitely not the least would be my new babies~! I never did like glosses but i am glad that i was able to try Dazzleglass for it is L-O-V-E! I have been using them ever since i get them. They are perfect in creating that pout-y lips!

I can't stop looking at them for seeing those tiny glitters makes my heart go tokidoki~!
I'm sorry i wasn't able to get a better picture of it's awesomeness but it is to die for! By the way, this is my nail art for this weekend, credits to tartofraises for the idea.

Now i understand why a lot of girls go crazy for Dazzleglass! Will do a review sometime.

I hate it when the weather is crazy. It was so humid early in the afternoon so it rained later on in the afternoon & i felt all sticky & sweaty because of the humidity. But i am really happy with my nail polishes. yipee!!!!

I have to get back & get some more~! Anyway, i will really have to go back to the mall because i wasn't able to buy my mum a printer. hehehehe

Weekend is almost over...back to work again....

Hope that you'll have a happy start for your week, honeys!

MAC Lip Conditioner SPF 15 Review

I am not a lip balm user. I hate lip products that are in a pot. So why did i purchase this? No real reason actually. I'm just curious because it seems like almost all MAC products are given very high ratings in Makeup Alley.

I know that there are some girls who go ga-ga for the brand itself. It's like anything that has the M-A-C letters on is a must-have. I don't have anything about the brand,ok? In fact, i have a couple of MAC items as well, i'm just curious how different MAC's lipbalm is to any ordinary lipbalm.

I'll tell you about my opinions later on but let's start first by dissecting the packaging one by one. It comes in a very stylish box, on which if i am a box collector would make me keep it because it is cute! LOL

This is the description on the website:
A lightweight conditioning balm for the lip formulated with SPF 15. Protects the lips from everyday aggressions, holds in moisture, provides gentle repair to dry lips. Contains Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil, vitamins A and E. Petroleum based to seal in moisture yet smooth to apply, non-sticky on. Slightly vanilla-flavoured. Colour-free.
Active Ingredients would be Octinoxate & Octisalate

You'll be getting 15 ml or .5 fl oz of product...

I have a couple of lip balms/lip butter which has...

  • Lauress Lip Ease - 5 g/.18oz
  • Yes to Carrots Lip Butter - 4.25 g/.15oz
  • Maybelline Lip Balm - 4.5 g
  • The Body Shop Black Velvet Apricot Lip Balm - 15 ml/.45oz
OMG!
The measurement conversion is so confusing! Anyway, i just copied what i saw on the packaging. I think lip balms on pots have bigger product quantity compare to tube balms though.

One thing that i hate about lip pots is that i find it unhygienic!

I hate dipping fingers/brushes on it every now & then for i feel that everytime i open the pot, i am exposing it to all the germs on the air, then dipping my brush/fingers to be able to get the product, then putting the lid back on with all the germs for air exposure - trapping them there as a breeding ground.
*shudders at the though*

OMG!
OC Alert!
(-__-")

But seriously, that is 1 issue that i have when it comes to lip pots. I feel that disinfecting it is harder & messy compare to lip tubes. I can't just continue wiping the top layer off every time i want to disinfect it.

Anyway, if you don't have any problem with the hygienic issue of lip pots, then you will find this packaging for this product really cute for even if it is housed in a plastic pot, it is sturdy as hell for i have dropped it a lot of times but it's still good as new!

Kudos to packaging that won't ever be deformed even if your clumsy side takes over you!
LOL

It's also sleek enough to be slipped unnoticed on your bag/jeans compare to the usual lip pots that are too bulky. I know that this pot is bigger compare to the usual pots out there, but since this a bit wider, it tends to be thinner too so it's not as bulky compare to others.

Now when it comes to the product, it has this sweet scent & taste that makes it a treat every time you apply it. I can't identify the exact scent it has but suffice to say that it has this sweet dessert-like scent. It also tastes sweet unlike the usual lip balms that are tasteless so you might find yourself licking your lips every now & then if you like those sweet lip products!

I agree that this is lightweight. It is waxy, but it doesn't have that heavy "I AM WEARING A LIP BALM" feeling. It glides on satin-like when you apply it & you might find yourself rubbing your lips together to savor that satin-like feeling that it gives.

As for the conditioning factor, sorry, but it didn't meet my need to condition the lips. I agree that it is better than your average lip balms, but to say that this will transform your dry-looking lips to a va-va voom, juicy-looking lips is too much, as what some people claims. It will lock the moisture on your lips, preventing it to dry, but it won't magically turn to water or something that can moisturize your lips. It might provide a little moisture, but again, not enough.

Anyway, on the description it says "provides gentle repair to dry lips" so it is true to what it says though. Kudos again for not misleading people into thinking that this is THE ULTIMATE LIP BALM!

This product just sits on your lips that when you apply this before sleeping, you'll still wake up with that waxy-feeling on your lips. On which i think is not a good idea when you mostly welcome the day with a kiss from your hubby/boyfriend. I personally find it a nuisance to wake up with the greasy-like feeling on my lips.
(-__-")

I think this is just like a better version of petroleum jelly, albeit, housed in a cute packaging, sweet scent & taste as well.

Oh well, it has SPF 15 though. i have tried a couple of lip balms that has high SPF & it feels awful on the lips. It's just like applying candle drippings on your lips! Not a good feeling! This one is a pleasure to use.

Whenever i have that emergency lip situation that requires immediate attention my miracle saver is the Nivea Creme. I know that sounds weird, but believe me, it does work! Minutes after you slather Nivea Creme on your lips, of course, make sure that you don't eat or lick it!, your lips will be moisturize! My instant lip fix! So that is staple product for me.

Again, don't eat it,ok? Remove it after your lips has been moisturized already. Then apply a regular lip balm to seal in the moisture. Works like a charm!

Anyway, time to do a summary..
PROS:
  • packaging is cute & sleek (for those who loves lip pots)
  • has spf 15
  • glides smoothly
  • will last you for a while
  • has that sweet taste/scent (for those who loves scented/sweet lip products)
  • expiration date is embedded on the bottom of the pot so you'll know when to ditch it!
  • it's MAC - this a big factor for some girls. Personally, i don't care
CONS:
  • i personally find lip pots unhygienic
  • has that waxy-feeling (but not too much)
  • not for people that hates scented/sweet lip products
  • expensive

With that said, will i still buy this?
Nah, once is enough for me... plus the fact that i don't plan to shell out $14.50 anytime soon for a pot of lip balm. I don't plan to try out the tinted lip conditioner either. One is enough for me.

Have you tried MAC's lip conditioner?
What's your feedback?

Hope you are having a great day!

cumulative haul + false lashes

First of all, i want to greet you all a Happy Hearts Day!
Hope that you all had good memories for this years Valentines celebration. I'm not big on valentines though.

I haven't done a haul post for weeks now. Frankly, i just don't have enough time to blog that much even though i do try to comment regularly, so i don't have the luxury of time anymore to do other posts aside from reviews or tutorials.
*sigh*
Isogashii, isogashii, isogashii~!

Some of the products that i have here have been purchased a few weeks back...

Anyway, last week, i went to the PO, & that is something that i am not really looking forward to because i have read a lot of new "rules" that happens in retrieving packages. i'm just glad that i was spare from the claws of the Customs officer!
whew!

Maggie of KKCenterHK contacted me a couple of weeks back asking me if i could do a review for their false lashes. As what you all know, i have short, sparse lashes so i always depend on mascaras & falsies in giving life to my eye. I was so happy that she trusted me enough to do a review. I'll do a separate post for it some other time.

The black box contains 10 pairs of lashes, while the other 4 individual lashes are all lower falsies! Yay! I 'll be able to try wearing lower lashes!

Speaking of Falsies, when i went to meet my friend last Lunar New Year, we went to the Beauty Bar & i grabbed these 2 falsies as well. I never knew that Andrea falsies are a lot cheaper compare to Ardell! Now, i know where i have to buy falsies whenever i need to!

I have been using the MAC Lip Conditioner for quite sometime now... Review will be posted after a couple of weeks for i want to really be able to test it out before i give my final say.

I have stopped using moisturizer as what i said before, but when i tried using Eskinol + Dalacin C to treat my acne, i noticed that my skin went from very oily to combination so to combat the dryness in certain areas, i decided to try Celeteque for i know that it is the only moisturizer that doesn't have any benefits at all aside from the "moisturization". I decided to try the one that got spf though....

Then, when i first saw the new stall in Watson which is the Crayon, i decided to try 2 of their polish since i haven't seen this brand yet.

I have to say that the glittery orange shade is pretty good!

This has been my to-go nail polish ever since i got it!
I never did like orange when i was a kid, but now i am loving it!

Then last but not the least would be a couple more polishes as well, plus a new hair conditioner!

I said before that my favorite TFS Nail Pleasure Top Coat is about to be discontinued so i am slowly buying back-ups to make sure that i have enough stock with me... As for the white bottle, it is a nail whitener but i haven't really fully tested it though....

The 3 polishes tat i bought from Bobbie are from the HOT Collection & i plan to collect them as well! Nail Polish Solvent is a must for those who has a lot of nail polishes so i bought another bottle as a back up + my favorite body lotion which is the Johnson's Baby Milk Lotion. I'm addicted to the scent of this lotion. It smells so good!!!!!

Lastly, I have tried the Opal Hair Treatment which is in the pink tube, but i decided to give this a shot. I don't know if this would be a good substitute for my favorite Cream Silk Conditioner, but we'll see.

Well, there ya go!
I'm hoping that i'll be able to post some reviews for this week.

Hope you all are enjoying your Valentines day, girls!

What is your go-to eyeshadow?

I'm sure we all have that days when we are running late & much as we want to do our eye make-up we just can't for the worry of rush hour is occupying our mind. In that case, i'm sure most of you would at least swipe an eyeshadow on your lids for that extra oomph in your look! So, tell me, what's your i-don't have-the-time-but-this-will-still-make-me-pretty eyeshadow?

I used to think that neutral eyeshadows are boring & is just for oba-sans (old ladies). But i guess i can already call myself as an oba-san too since i love neutral shadows now. In fact, my go-to shadows are MAC Woodwinked & the Milani Glimmer Stripes in Bronze Glimmer. I know i said just 'eyeshadow', right? But then since they are almost in the same family & i really reach for them most of the time so they are my favorites.

As what i said before, i am an NC20 & i could go from NC20 to NC35 especially when i'm exposed to the sun frequently, especially when i go swimming for i am the type of person who will sleep on the water if it's even possible. I love lounging around in the pool!

Speaking of which, when my best friend had her birthday celebration we went swimming for the whole day & i got a bad case of sunburn. That was last October 3 & up until now my tan marks are still visible. I think i am NC25 as of now, I'm trying to use Papaya soap in lightening my skin for i have freckles on my shoulders...

Chotto Matte....
Why am i talking about that?!

I am really a chatterbox! I can go on & on about something that is totally out of topic... I'm sorry about it. Anyway, the point of that is to say that these shadows still work great even if i swing from 1 tone to another. I love them!

This is a close up of how it looks like.

Actually in only use 3 shadows on the Milani Glimmer Stripes. The top part, which is a gorgeous highlighter (it reminds me of my MAC Sugarshot e/s which i lost *sniff*)... the middle part which is a nice shimmery taupey color... then the bottom shadow is a tan which is a great all over lid color!

MAC Woondwinked on the other hand is like a golden rusty brown which glides on like a butter since it is a Veluxe Pearl formula. It gives that nice pearly look without going overboard. Even my mum can get away with this look even if she has a few lines around her eyes. I think this actually a good color not only for those that got brown eyes but for other eye color as well!

Plus, depending on the color of your base, it can transform from gold to dark gold to taupe...
L-O-V-E-L-Y!

I did not swatch the highlighter anymore..hehe.. a highlighter is a highlighter. XD

Oh, i actually swiped the Milani Eyeshadow a couple of time to get the color since it's a bit chalky compare to MAC. I still love them!

So, that's my go-to shadow... How about yours?
^_~

Hope y'all are doing great,girls!
Jaa mata~!

~a visit to the post office~

I received a notification from the post office yesterday but wasn't in the mood to go there, so i went today instead and i was actually surprised to know that i have a couple of packages waiting for me. I thought i'll just be picking 2...

I had a great time opening each packages. Most are actually prizes from the contests that i've won for the past couple of months.

First is from Linda...

I was shocked when i saw  the mark that was written on the  package... Take a closer look..it says "Missent to Thailand"...LOL! is there even such a word as missent?! No wonder it took 2 months before i was able to receive it. (-__-")

I 'bought' something from her blogsale.
  • Maybelline Mineral Power Blush in Soft Mauve II
  • Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in  Beige Medium
  • Smooth Away Hair Remover
I'm most excited about the Smooth Away because im tired of shaving my legs every now & then. This would definitely be a new experience for me. When she posted her blogsale i immediately sent her an email, she told me that Steph also wanted the Smooth Away... but only the one for facial use. Woot woot!

Thanks a lot,hun!

I also got the prize that i won from Shiela of the Painted Ladies

I received the
  • MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow
  • MAC Oh Baby Lipglass
Yay for my first MAC Lipglass!
^_^

Thanks, Shiela!

Also the prize from xLovelyMakeupx....a Skin MD Shielding Lotion!

My mom tried it & she actually loved it! She was asking me how much this if converted to Philippine pesos... Looks like she wanted some for herself! As for me, i'll just be doing a mini review for it 1 of these days...

Thanks Eve!

Last but not the least is from my lovely friend Joanna of JBreezybaby

I also won her & Ezziebells' giveaway. Look at her pretty she wrapped everything!

I won 2nd prize & she got me the Too Faced Easy on the Eyes Set & 2 pairs of lovely jewelry from Ezziebell.

Everything is an eye candy!

The Too Faced set is just soooooo cute! It includes the mini Shadow Insurance & also a mini Lash Injection mascara...perfect kit for traveling!

As for the jewelry...it is awesome!

Another addition for my collection...I just love dangling earrings.

Look how simply gorgeous this one is.. I've had never had a yellow-ish earrings before. So cute!

I rather like this one better since it's so elegant-looking! Love the ribbon & the heart crystal with the pearl on it!
^_^

~thoughts on Viva Glams Gaga & Cyndi~

Sorry for the lack of posts, hunnies. I thank everybody who continuously support my blog even while im on hiatus. Arigato, mina-san.

I've had the MAC Viva Glams Gaga & Cyndi for quite sometime now & i think i can now share my thoughts on them. So yeah, for this pic, i used them (yep! them!)

Do i like them? Is it a must-buy product?
Read on...

The time that i heard that Lady Gaga is about to have her very own viva glam i got excited. I have been checking for swatches every now & then that in the end, i was caught up on the hype of it. I even asked Steph to get one for me. She's so nice to actually do me a favor.

Thank you,Steph. I really appreciate it.

I'm not a fan of Lustre finishes. The reason is that i have a pretty pigmented lips so the colors doesn't show up on me that much, especially nude colors. For light colors, it will leave me with a weird-looking lips so i pretty much prefer Amplified Cremes, Satins & Mattes that provide more pigments & won't matter if you have pigmented lips. For darker shades of lustres, i can rock it but i have to really swipe it a couple of times before i achieve the color that i want to.

One good point in using lustre finish is that it's build-able. If you want a very sheer look then just swipe it once...you can build the intensity of the color by swiping it again & again until you achieve the desired look. It won't give you that 'really wet' look, but instead a juicy-looking lips but still pigmented.

Whenever i use these, i have to use a lip concealer to make the pretty color on the tube appear on my lips. This is when the Etude House Lip Concealer comes in handy.

With that said, i find it quite tiresome to use 3 products on my lips each time i decide to wear it. This is especially for VG Gaga...Why 3?
First - it's a must to moisturize the lips first. Not just because i'm using a lip concealer, but it's a great way to keep your lips looking great. You don't want a dry-looking lips,ne?
Second - Lip concealer - i made a review of the Etude House lip concealer HERE.
Finally - the lipstick...

It sure sound a lot, huh? This is why i'm not that satisfied with it. While others are going crazy over how nice it looks, sadly, in my case it's not the same. This would really be good for those that don't have pigmented lips & can rock nude lustres alone.

Again, while most have provided swatches & lip shots, i think you won't be able to really see how 'nice' it looks like unless you see a full face pic. I'll not do the usual product shots since i know that there are a lot out there & im sure you're tired of them by now. So, i just decided to play a bit with my toys to take a pic.

Sorry, i did not bother to do a heavy coverage so you would see some blemishes since i only do make-up for my blog during the evening when i'm free.

I think my shade went a bit darker since lately i'm not able to wear sunscreens as much as before. So from NC20, i guess im now down to NC 25-30 (this is just a rough estimate), so that you would know how it would look like on a certain shade.

Let's start with the Viva Glam Gaga:

To show the true color of it, i have to use a lip concealer underneath. If i use it without concealer, it would go from a nice bubblegum-y pink to a light mauve-y pink. Personally,i can't rock this color alone....such a shame. It's such a pretty color on the tube. (-___-") I look horrible with this color on, seriously...I think it made my teeth yellow-er...accckkk!!!!

Would you believe that i took like 30 pics with Gaga on & everything looks horrible. I think this is the only pic that looks better than the rest, but mind you, i'm still not satisfied with it. It just dawned on me that no matter how many pics i took, Gaga won't be my best bud...*sigh*

Sugi, Viva Glam Cyndi:

Underneath a lip concealer, i don't need to build the color by swiping it over & over. I think i swiped it on my lips or like 3x to get this color. I like Cyndi better than Gaga obviously.

Surprisingly, when you mix Gaga & Cyndi, you'll get this pretty color:

A rose colored look that is perfect for daytime & even evening look. I actually like this color a lot. This is the color that i have on my 1st pic on this post. Do any of you know what MAC lipstick is close to this shade? I would love to be able to get myself one.

So, i might not rock Gaga alone, but when i pair it with other colors, it would give a nice subtle look to any dark color that i am going to pair it with. Cyndi is great by itself, but paired with Gaga, you can have an awesome color!

I'm not sure if this is a limited edition though...but if you are looking for a nice pink & red lipstick, this pair is worth checking out. Not only do you get to contribute in the MAC Aids Fund, but you get to have a cool-looking packaging since the box & the tube got their signature on.

Great packaging!
Next lemming - MAC Liberty of London ^_~

So, have you tried these 2?
What are your thoughts?

Until my next post..
Hope y'all have a great day!
I'm going back to watching Buzzer Beat.

my personalized earring & viva glams

It's already monday... *sigh*..the weekend went by so fast. :(

The package that i was talking about the last time is from Steph of Julu Jewelry. She's so nice because she custom-made an earring for me as per my request. I picked up the parcel last friday and was so excited that i opened it while i was still on public vehicle..hehe

I asked her to also get me the Gaga and Cyndi Viva Glams and she is just so sweet to actually do me a favor.
Thank you so much, Steph...I'm soooooo happy!
What more can i ask of  for a friend?!

These are the contents... Steph is so kind to include freebies, but i can't find the lipstick that she gave me...
TT_TT
I think i misplaced it..but i know i'll find it sooner.

Since i know that everyone had heard of the Viva Glams, so i'll skip the pics. But you know, i thought i'll like them but i think not that much. I mean they are nice, but im not that crazy about them. I actually rather like it when i combine the 2.

Now, on to the earring....

I asked her to make me 1 that i saw somewhere at a lady that i was in the train with. I caught a glance of her earring, but i wasn't able to ask her where she bought it because she was already about to go out of the train. So i described it to Steph and she made it.

I asked her to make me a simple stud, with the dangles at the back or on the clasp instead of the front. & i also asked her to make the other strands silver and the other gold. So that it would have a bit of an edge on it.

This is how it actually looked it when it is worn. It's simple & perfect for everyday earring. I think it's actually cute.... ^_^...BF says that this is his fave among my earring collection because of it's simple elegance. wow!

If you want your very own personalized earrings as well, you can asked Steph to do one for you!
I'm sure she'll be able to do it exactly as you asked her.

Thanks so much, Steph! I'm one happy lady indeed.

How was your weekend,ladies?
Did you had a great one?

Hope y'all have a great day!
