a new fragrance~

Since i can't seem to feel that strong blogging desire yet, i decided to just make a random post for the time being.

My Godfather dropped by last week & gave me a late birthday gift. I wasn't expecting anything at all to think that i'm already 26 & i think it's way past the time where i will still be getting gifts from my Godparents.

So, going back, I received Calvin Klein Beauty.

I remember watching the commercial for this, which is by Diane Kruger. I think this was released this year...

I'm not really that familiar with signature fragrances. I am clueless when the topic is already about fragrances. So if you will ask me if it smells like the other CK fragrances, i'll just give you that 'clueless stare' look.  Love the bottle though... looks really classy & timeless.

I have tried other fragrances but the only one that i like so far is B-Spot by Benefit. It seems to agree with my body chemistry. Every time i buy fragrances, i end up giving it to my mum for it just doesn't suit me. I tried this & i guess i sprayed too much with just 2 spritz for i end up with a sore throat after a couple of hours all because the scent is overpowering. I told you that i have a sensitive sense of smell,right?

It says that it has a note of lily, jasmine etc...on which i can't quite figure out. It's said to have a modern, floral fragrance but i don't think so. Well, anyway, im not really an expert again, but i have to say that this last forever. I spritz it on my shirt at around early afternoon then the next day when i was picking up my clothes to put in the laundry, i sniffed my brassiere & the scent is still there.

Wow!

As what i said, i spritz it on my shirt but the scent still lingers not just my shirt, but also my bra. I have tried a couple of eau de parfum (yes, perfume!) but sometimes it doesn't last long. Benefit B-Spot is just a Eau de Toilette but it lasts long on me, which just tops the others that i have tried.

I didn't notice any change in the scent when it sits in my skin though, which is good for it means that it agrees on me.

Hmmm....
While i may not be a fan of it's overwhelming scent but i would have to say that it is good. I'm glad that i got to try this one out.

Sorry for the lack of posts,hunnies. It's not because i don't have anything to post at all, but it's more of a lack of inspiration. I have tons of drafts waiting but i can't seem to work on them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that i'll be able to feel inspired sooner or later.

Anyway, today i went to the post office to pick up a parcel from StrawberryNet. I bought perfume weeks ago & i was supposed to get it last friday, but the Customer Officer is there & it seems like he is "milking" everyone again.

I mean, all packages are being scrutinized bit by bit & i saw him took his calculator out & wrote a lot of things then showed it to the people that he talk to & they will go out frowning (not bringing their package along), which indicates that they are being asked for an outrageous 'tax' amount.

I love my country, but this is 1 of the reason why i think our country sucks.
geeezzzz!!!!

Anyway, I was able to pick up 2 parcels today, but i won't show you the other since i'll be putting some of it on my upcoming giveaway.

I bought something for me & for bf too. This is a supposed Valentines gift, but since it's so late, i'll just give it to him for our anniversary, which is next month. 7 years of pure bliss with him!

Seriously, i love the atomizer.

It's so cute....very vintage-like with the puff & everything. I originally planned to buy it at the mall because i wanted to smell it first but it's not available anymore. I went to Rustan's & SM malls asking for this, but it's nowhere to be found. So i took a risk & bought it.

I said to myself that even if it doesn't smell good, i can just keep the bottle because it looks divine. Good thing that it smells good. although i'mnot sure how it would smell like once i sprayed this on.

I now wanted to buy the Britney Spears In Control, which has the same type of bottle but different color. I think it looks better because it's black & pink, 2 of my most favorite color! I just can't find it in any online stores. Anybody know where i can buy it?

I'm trying to really finish some of my drafts which have some reviews & stuff for you. Here's to hoping that this would actually get me started.

strawberry.net & blogsale haul

As i said on my last post, i have a package waiting to be picked up. I went to the PO a while ago & to my surprise, i have 2.

Hurray!

One is from Strawberry.net & the other one is from ECT of e.motion of motion's blog sale.
I'm actually glad that my strawberry.net haul had already arrived, i know that now is a peak season & there's a high chance that packages would be received later than late (yeah, i use late because it's always late here).

Let's start first with the blogsale haul. I bought random items.

Im not exactly a necklace person but i think this looks really cute! I'm not sure if i'm going to use this though....

One thing that i'm very curious about is the sealant. I know how it works, but i want to see for myself if it does work! So i got myself this!

I already had my first experience of B Spot thanks to Sarah, when she included a sample of it on her love package. I like it then & was actually surprise to realize that this lasted on me for like a whole day!

I sprayed it in the morning..i thought that the scent disappeared right around afternoon, but it seems like i just got immune to it. Bf told me later on that i still smell good. I think this is the only Eau de Toilette that lasted on me..to think that this is not a Eau de Parfum! great staying power~

I'm actually glad that the scent is not wrong for me...

I did not realize that the packaging got silhouettes of women. I only realize it when i looked at the back.

Not wanting to sound a nymphomaniac but after seeing this from a far, i thought it was G spot plus the silhouette of the woman

Now what has been keeping me busy?
Gift wrapping!

I decided that i want to have a red & blue gifts this christmas so i have to buy a lot of metallic foils & double sided tape just for that...plus the ribbons too.

Actually, i changed the color of the ribbons today compare to this pic. Blue gifts got red ribbons & red gifts got blue ribbons.

I'm not yet even halfway done with all the wrapping.

But it's ok since i'm mostly done with christmas shopping. Though i still have 2 more people on my list that i don't really have an idea what to get....I guess i'll be finish with my list this weekend!

I like looking at a color coordinated gifts..though not quite yet because again, i haven't changed the ribbons on my gifts when i took this pic, but now they are already color coordinated. yay!

The white holographic gift is actually the gift for bf. Just so that it would stand out to signify that it is special..LOL

Andy Warhol EDT

I was actually so waiting for my last StrawberryNET haul, not because of the lotions & stuff, but mainly because of this. I have smelled this before & i thought that it smells so good. It is something that reminds me of my boyfriend. I dunno how to explain it, but it smells just like him. Not that it smells like some other EDT, but the first thing that entered my mind is him... (i was with a friend when i got my first sniff of this). I was about to buy it then & there, but i decided to go check StrawberryNET if they have it,a bit hard to do for a shopaholic....but i was able to resist...yay!

& good thing, because it was indeed available! So when i ordered it, i also threw in a couple more goodies (on which i guess you have already seen). Yay for the loyalty discount! I was able to save money.

I ordered this hoping that it would arrive just in time for Valentines day, but i got some problems with Paypal so it came a week after Valentines Day. Took me a while to do a review on it because this is not mine, i have to interview my bf.

He said that it does smell nice. It got that mild musky scent that smells refreshing. It got that "clean" scent that makes this EDT even more wearable. I think it can even be used by women. According to the website, it even got some jasmine on it...hmmm....i guess so. Its just that it smells nice without being too musky. It does have a tad bit of floral scent, but not too much.

A unique combination of musk & floral, but is meant for guys.

I don't think i can ponder on much about it since i don't have it on hand. I might be able to do a detailed review if i have it...too bad. But for those who is thinking of buying this, i think its a neat product. Considering that its a EDT for unisex, you can't go wrong.. It has that clean & refreshing scent on it. I even find myself embracing bf just so to smell it. Ha! & he thought that its him..lol!

As for the staying power, I don't think it stays that long. Anyways, this is just an EDT, not a perfume. Bf said that he mostly just sprays it on the shirt so for it to stay longer compare to putting it on pulse points. Well,yeah, of course... EDT works that way,right? But i actually prefer him using an EDT compare to perfume as i have a sensitive nose. Too much of a scent will give me sore throat afterwards...yep!that sensitive!

But im actually planning on buying this again..but not for him anymore..but for me! XD

I can't wait for my next haul...I wanna try the Lancome Bi-Facil that bad. Im a big Lancome fan, but i haven't tried one of their best product..but im about to.....*excited*

L'eau De Sonia Rykiel (blue)

This is one of my StrawberryNET haul (as what you guys already know). What drove me to include this in my shopping cart back then is that this is one brand that i haven't heard of...hehe...not a good deciding reason huh?

It's just that i haven't even seen this in any of our local mall...or is it just that i don't linger that much on the perfumery section..?...Who knows?....But nevertheless...this is the first fragrance that i brought unsniffed.

Im actually contemplating if i actually like this or not...hmmmm.....
Okay,ill just put my thoughts into this post...

As soon as i took it out of the box, the scent of 'new stuff' just permeated the air around me. I uncapped it & i thought that it smells nice. But when i sprayed it on my wrist to test it out, i was surprised when the first thought that entered my head is 'newly varnished furniture'....

oh,man! I don't mind woody scent...but this is way toooooooooooooooo woody... I feel like im a furniture that has been washed over by varnish. I asked my mom to smell it & that's also what she said....

I guess everybody have smelled new furniture & it does smell nice...but for a person to smell like a furniture..i guess that won't do for me... There were lots of details on the internet about the fragrance involved on it..but i dont think it correctly describes it. So ill just put it in a simple phrase "a woody 'new furniture' fragrance"..lol..

It does smell nice as what i said, but just not for me...If one person like woody scents then i guess they'll like this one. I guess i prefer smelling like a real girl... :-P

So now, im still contemplating what im gonna do with it. I just sprayed it on my wrist once & that's just about it. I eventually gift wrapped it so i don't have anything to give for emergency situations..lol...i have something ready....but for now i really don't know what i'll do with it...im thinking of selling it on Ebay though..but im still not sure...

strawberryNET haul

After much waiting, Im finally able to have my complete strawberryNET haul...this is the 2nd time that i ordered from that website & am actually happy it. Im able to buy a couple of neat stuff at a very low price.

Well,the Guinot Hydrating Mask is not actually a freebie..hehe...I just said that they can send me any sample that they have so to help in my future purchases. Then that's just what they included...on which im not even sure if im gonna be using since its a hydrating mask. I have a very oily skin...yeah..i know that even oily skin needs to be moisturized but i don't think i need to add much moisture on my skin aside from the moisturizer that im currently using..but ill keep this. Who knows when this might come in handy,right?

Im gonna be doing a review on the EDT Sprays that i got, but maybe not now...

In time ill be able to do a review on every single one of these (except for the RL Rocks which i already did have a post).

Ralph Lauren Rocks Body Moisturizer

Much as i would like to put the title "Body Care haul" just so that i won't single out just one product, i fear that it won't fit seeing as the only one that i've tried is the Body Moisturizer.

Ok,i'll tell you all about it..

Today i went to post office to pick up my package. Remember the time when i said ill be ordering at Strawberry.net? Well,i actually did buy a couple of stuff. I bought 2 bottles of fragrances, a body moisturizer & a shower gel. Since there is a shipping charge for fragrances, then it had to be separated & the body care package arrived first....hmmm...i wonder where my second package is...? *sigh*...sure hope its not lost somewhere out there..... *utters a small prayer*

On with what im saying...Picked up the package, as soon as i went home i opened it & took a pic...
Well,what i have with me now is the Ralph Lauren Rocks Body Moisturizer & the Geoffrey Beene Shower Gel. StrawberryNET had also sent me a sample of the Guinot Masque Hydra Beaute. I actually put a note saying that i would like to receive some samples on my purchases too.

Im not exactly a fan of Body Lotions & Shower Gels, i use it but not overmuch. I guess its because its so hot here in the Philippines that it feels extra hot if i apply 'oils' on my body. So,why did i order these body care stuff? I just thought for once, "why not lavish my body?" Often times its always my face who i pampered with moisturizers, facial masks, & cosmetics. So, i gave in to the temptation...but don't get me wrong...I still made sure that it is something within my budget. Hurray for the Valentine's Sale! Yay!

I did not open the shower gel yet because of the reason that i stated above, so im saving it for some day.Since the RL is unboxed,then i get the firsthand sniff of it.

How do i describe it..?..If you just smell it while its in the container, it gives off that nice fruity-flowery smell. When applied on your skin, the first scent that will fill your nostril is the coconut-ty fruity scent, followed by the RL signature scent. Then after a few minutes, the coconut will fade, to a sandalwood scent, which i think is actually good. It's a bit of a surprise...i know that there are a couple of scents that changes after a couple of minutes, but with this..i did not expect a sandalwood to come out from a fruity scent....much more something that started off with a coconut-ty scent.

It definitely reminds me of summer. I don't know if its just me but i can't actually smell any hint of orange blossoms...hmmmm....it does smell creamy..kinda like Pina Colada...

It really does moisturize....i applied it twice just on the back of my hand & i feel that its really smooth & moisturized. So, that's great,right? I'll just bring this with me when im gonna do some sleep overs or when im gonna go on the beach. Just something to moisturize my skin.

If you are looking for a fruity-summery scent..then im pretty sure that RL Rocks will suit your taste...Actually now that i have the Body Moisturizer..im thinking of buying the Eau de toilette...but maybe not now..im still waiting for my Sonia Rykiel... :(

Stila Jade Blossom review

Yay!

The moment i wake up, mom handed me another notification from the Post Office….which is actually cool because it means that the Stila jade blossom is already within my reach.. ^_^

So, i hurriedly dress up & put makeup to ‘fetch’ my new baby.

When i got there,there’s not a lot people…..thank goodness! I gave the card to the guy who’s in charge. I had a little chit chat with him about perfumes & taxes….Since the man who is ahead of me is being ‘dissected’ (lol!) thoroughly by the customs officer, the man whom im talking to just went ahead to fetch my package for me, since its just a cute little box & the amount is not over $50 (because it got something to do with tax if it exceeds $50). Then i signed up his log book & happily went home.

It actually made me smile when i saw that purple ribbon tied over the box.

See those cute curly styros, they made sure that my stila got some companion inside that box…

After taking pic, i tore the silver paper wrap & voila!there is the very cute baby pink box ^_^

Ok, now on with the review…

First, why did i buy this one…because its the cheapest of all in strawberry.net the time that i brought it.. (but im serious!)

Since this site has the “free international shipping”, i just felt its too good to be true. So to be on the safe side, i decided to test strawberry.net & see for myself. So i ordered this & im so happy with it! In fact after i make this blog im gonna go & shop for some more since a lot of items are on sale.

Anyway, the product is in a very cute pink round tin & is small which makes it very convenient to be put on your kit. It doesn’t take lots of space & of course is very light which is definitely a plus factor for me, because its quite troublesome to go bringing big bottle of perfumes. Like currently, i have the Lacoste Touch of Spring & its pretty hard to carry it because its heavy & bulky…so yeah..i like how easy it is to put this on my kit.

The first time that i put my nose on it, it made me think of a perfume that my bf was using before, i just can’t remember the name. It got that musky, after-shave scent. So i thought that this would fit a man better, but after a couple more sniffs, it made me realize that its not that musky at all. It got that hint of flowery scent, which is pretty feminine.

When i swipe my finger on it,just to test it out i had some doubts if it will last for more than a minute. I applied it at the back of my ear & rub it, it gave that very nice lingering smell that im guessing was ‘enhanced’ because of my body heat. I did not put a lot because i can still smell the Lacoste on me, but the musky smell of this perfume still lingers on the air.

I like this product, although its too small. I guess this product is made entirely for the purpose of just putting it on your purse, just for touch ups. If im gonna spray a perfume on me before i go out the house, it will clash with Stila. So im thinking if im still gonna buy another of this or just buy the 1.7 oz Stila bottle……hmmmm……i wonder if Strawberry.net got that…

Nevertheless,i will definitely keep this. Stash it in my purse so that if ever i went out in a hurry & forgot to spray something on myself,i have this very handy musky fragrance with me. ^_^

Im gonna give this 4 out of 5 points

& with that, im off to strawberry.net…jaa!!!
