Guest Post:Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Whitening Cleansing Foam Review

Our second guest post came from a very dear friend, Spr Rai. I'm so happy that i was able to meet him because of my blog. We always talk about skincare & we even tried a new regimen together to see if it would deliver the said promise. hahaha. Now here is one product that he swore worked for him almost miraculously! Let's get to know what it is.
It's the Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam.

I really like the Sparkling White line of Nivea Visage, especially their facial foams. I probably think that this is by far my favorite among them. I have oily, acne prone skin so it really suits my skin.

Not only does it remove and control oiliness, it does other actions for fairer skin as well:

Cleans into pores to remove dirt & 90% of oil
Acne Reduction Technology helps prevent acne
Skin Nutrient Formula helps lighten dark spots & blemishes
Minimizes appearance of pores
Smoothens skin without dry feeling

NIVEA VISAGE Sparkling White Acne Oil Control contains 2x smaller molecule of:
Acne Reduction Technology that cleans deeper into pores by effectively lifting dirt and oil which is the cause of acne
Skin Nutrient Formula that helps lighten acne marks and dark spots.

Whenever I use this to wash my face, it instantly removes the excess oil. I like how my face feels squeaky clean. I don't get any irritation nor do I get breakouts from it (I experience this when I use some other brands). And it really does somehow lighten my dark spots (I have a lot of them).

I'm so happy with this product. I will certainly buy again. It's very affordable at Php125.00 for the 100g and Php75.00 the 50g. And it's available at all Watsons stores too.

You can add/drop him a message on his Facebook. Click HERE to go to his page.

Franken Polishes again~

Frankening polishes is just so addicting!
I have been frankening the past couple of days & i've come up with a couple of neat polishes. I'ma share some of them with you.

I call this Bewitching Hour.

This is a dark teal jelly with lots of flakies & glitters.
I originally wanted to make a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Ray of Light (which i think is like Orly's Fowl Play) but as i was taking a look at my inventory, i saw my teal jelly polish so i just decided to go for teal instead of navy blue. I just can't resist making it darker & put in a few drops of Kleancolor Chunky Bluebell with other flakies too.

Love how it looks on the bottle,ne?
I am so addicted to flakies so you can expect more of them! haha

Then next is my Paradisco polish.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look good in pictures.
I have taken like 57 picture of this but i can't seem to capture the true beauty of it. It's a deep red jelly loaded with lots of glitters! I used hexagons, flitters, stars, chunky & fine ones too! Talking about glitter bomb!

Next is my Lemon Spritzer

This is a different twist on my Island Cocktail.
I just used a different base since i can't find San San's Soleil Canary Glow anymore.

Then my nameless polish...

I originally was planning to name this as "Disco Lights" since this is a clear base with lots of hexa & fine glitters. It looks really pretty in the bottle because you get to see the play of colors when the light hits it. The only thing is that i wasn't expecting that my hexa glitters tend to crush/shatter on application. I was a bit surprised when i saw those white flakes but i'm still happy. This is a successful failure,ne?

I was thinking of the name "All Hail the Fail" but it won't fit my label since it's too long. hahaha!
Still thinking of a name though.... hmmm.

*edit*
I got great name suggestions from my nail art group.
How about 'crushed gems'? or 'crushed crystal'?
I can't decide between the two.

Finally, for those who are curious about the Spectraflair that i got, here is the difference between the 2.

SF14 is finer than 35 so you get a rather fine linear holographic effect as opposed to 35. I prefer the 35 though just because it has a rather obvious holo effect than the other. It is just not that obvious here but you'll see it in person.

Hope you all like my creations.
^_^

Have a great weekend,y'all!

StrawberryNet Love!

I want to apologize to all you, ladies, first because i don't get to leave comments lately. I have been so busy with my classes just because i have a couple of new students.

I went to the post office last week to pick up a parcel & im mighty excited with this one... seriously!
So when i saw that usual lilac ribbon on the box, i knew that the wait is over.

This is the 2nd part of my StrawberryNet sponsor experience.

Anyway, for this haul, i picked a hair mask & something for bf. I picked him an EDT & he loves it! haha

Now, this is what i have been really looking forward to try ever since i heard of this.
The L'oreal Professional Nature Masque Richesse Nourishing Masque for dry hair. Isn't that long? Try saying that for 3x!LOL!

I'll make a full review of this sometime later.

This is available at David's Salon locally for almost Php1000 but i was only able to grab this for almost half the price at StrawberryNet! I'm serious! I was browsing the site when i saw that it's only for $14 (i think). That's a steal, ne? That's why i really love this website!

Now, i'm not saying this just because they sponsored me. I really love this website!

I'm not sure if i mentioned it before but i am already receiving a 7.5% loyalty discount which means that i have already made more than 10 purchases from their site, plus they gave me a 1% special volume discount on top of that too!

You do the math! Didn't i just save money with all of those?!
That's why i really recommend this website. You will be able to snag great items at such an amazing discount!

Pay this website a visit & you might see something that you fancy & start earning that loyalty discount.

Have a great week,hunnies!

SanSan Matte Finish Liquid Foundation Review

Remember the guessing game that i posted days ago?

Unfortunately, no one was able to guess what foundation i used. Know why? Just because this is one foundation that a lot of people might not have even tried using. I would not even guess what foundation was used..haha!

Anyway, i'll just be adding the prizes on my next giveaway.
The answer is the SanSan Matte Finish Liquid Foundation!

I said before that i'm not really a foundation user but when i drop by at HBC during their sale period i bought 2 shades just because i'm not really sure what is my shade. But HBC was generous & gave me the rest of the shades so i already have all of them.

They have 4 shades...

from 1 to 4, with 1 as the lightest & 4 as the darkest shade.

As soon as you twist it open, you'll be greeted by their unique 'dispenser'. It's a spatula!

You would be able to control how much product you need as opposed to pumps that you can't even control. Though it could be a bit hard to get the desired product since this one is runny. Maybe they could substitute a dropper instead..lol!

Here's a swatch of their shades...

I would describe them as 1 & 3 with yellow undertones while 2 & 4 got pink undertones.
I said that it is runny & it provides light but good coverage. I'll tell you about the coverage later.

You can get all 4 of them & still be able to use all of them.
You don't believe me? Check this out!

See how you could come up with different shades when you combine all of them?
Why can you still use all of them? Several reasons...

  • darker foundations can be used to contour your face, whereas light shades could be used to highlight it. Since this is a matte finish you would be able to control how sharp you want your contour/highlight to be.
  • depending on the season you could either go from a shade darker or lighter than your usual tone. This one is more obvious for countries that has 4 seasons but you tend to be a bit lighter during winter season just because you don't go out that much while as for summer season you tend to be taking advantage of the sun & freshen up your tan,ne? that's why it's better to make sure that you have at least 3 foundation in your stash!
  • You can use the different shades of your face foundation even on your body to even out your skin.
Since we are still talking about the topic of shades... my shade is a cross between 1 & 2 or either 2 & 3. I like that i can easily adjust it based on my skin. I said that 2 of them got yellow tones,ne? I think that you really have to add a tiny bit of pink undertone to get the perfect blend so make sure that you grab another bottle when you purchase,ok?

With that said, let's go the ingredients list:

Now let's talk about coverage.
I find it disturbing every time i post close-up pictures of my skin just because you can see everything. hahaha!
But of course, a close-up shot is a must,ne? That's how much i love all of you! LOL!

As you can see, I got red patches on my skin coupled with a few acne marks & blemishes.
This foundation was able to cover all of them.

This is how i look like without the foundation.
I just took it now because i forgot to take a pic of the before & after foundation. Anyway, it would still be the same face.. hehe

Hello, pale me! haha!
I didn't even apply any lip balm on. tsk tsk tsk...

This is how i look like with the foundation on...

Sorry about the junk at the background.
I took pic at the back of our house just because the light is good there. hehe

I know it doesn't look too obvious that i had foundation here. That's the good thing there,ne? It looks so natural you can't even tell if i had any at all! You can only know the difference if you really scrutinize it! Look at how even the color of my cheeks are with the foundation on.

Since this is runny, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the skin.
When you apply liquid foundation it's better to use a wet make-up sponge as opposed to using brushes. This is something that i had proven on my foundation experiment. I had used foundation brush, contour brush, buffer, stippling, kabuki, etc but none of them was able to give me the flawless finish that make-up sponge can give.

I understand why girls are going bananas on beauty blender (though i haven't used it) just because a sponge is something that you should not make light of.

I might be raving about the coverage but not really on the wear time.
Again, the reason why i don't wear foundation is because i perspire a lot. I just get annoyed every time i try to wipe my face & i would see my foundation on my hanky. Transfer-resistant foundation doesn't work on me when i sweat so i just don't bother with foundation at all.

How much more for this? This is not transfer-resistant & it can't stand my skin when it sweats. XD

So i'll leave the wear time blank... Just read other blogger's review on that.
However, I can vouch for the coverage just because it really is good!

I can't remember the exact price of this but I know that this is less than 200 per bottle.
I think i even got my first 2 bottle on sale period at only 100 each! How's that for the price?! Very affordable! So wait for the sale period if you want to save a few more peso but let me tell you, paying for the full price is worth.

PROS:
  • locally available
  • decent coverage
  • no heavy feeling
  • glides smoothly on the skin
  • affordable
  • can be blended easily
CONS:
  • runny texture
  • limited shades (i suggest you buy 2 bottle to custom mix your own shade)
  • it has that coconut-ty scent & i'm not a fan of coconut scents... actually i prefer my cosmetics to be fragrance-free
Will i buy it?
I did & i will buy it again once i used all of them though i don't think i'll be buying it anytime soon. hehe

Will i recommend it?
Of course!
If you are on a budget & is still looking for a nice foundation then you just have to try this. i didn't experience any break out on this. Well, i had a primer on so i'm not sure. hehehe
But my skin reacts easily to something when it doesn't agree on a certain product & i didn't experience any irritation at all so it means that my skin is ok with this!

Just make sure that you apply a finishing powder to top it off,ok?
^_~

This is the finish look, i top it off with Eshiko Ultra HD Powder.
I have to say that HD powders really look nice to finish the look! Makes everything look so flawless!

Cam whoring time!

This foundation makes it easy for me to even out my skin from the neck below. Everything just looks so even!

What i used in this look:
Primer-Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch
Foundation-SanSan Matte Finish Foundation in 01 & 02
Cheeks-Benetint
Brows-ELF Studio Brow Kit in Medium
Lips-Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Love that Red
Finishing Powder-Eshiko Ultra HD Powder

Make sure you give this foundation a try,ok?
Nothing to lose!
By the way,did you know that they already have online shopping?
Go to their website to give it a try!

Hope you all will have a great weekend, ladies!

Nanny Rose's DIY Waxing Kit

Hair removing is something that i have been doing ever since. It has been an essential & common ritual that i seem to keep on forgetting about making a post. I prefer waxing over shaving just because i think that it really makes the hair grow thinner in time. I also like the feeling of a freshly-waxed skin where the skin is quite sensitive that you get to feel the texture of the fresh-laundered bedsheet when you're about to sleep. hahaha!

I have been buying Wax Strips again & again. When Nanny Rose asked me if i would be willing to try out their product i said yes though i just had to tell them that i have been a fan of wax strips because it is very convenient & mess-free so i might be bias to it as opposed to their kit. They said that it would still be nice if i can experience their product nonetheless.

It took me a long time coming up with this post. hahaha!. I have been testing & testing it because i have a love-hate relationship with it. I'll tell you why later.
Let's get to know these products first.

Let me just say that this is one of the cutest packaging that i have ever seen! It's so simple & without the feeling of the professional/commercial-look that makes it stand out among others.

It is a kit which means that you can purchase & use both of them after the other.

You can read to your heart's content about both of them.
This is the description from the hair remover...

This is for the After Wax Salve...

This is how they look like out of their boxes...

The wax box kit has 2 wooden spatulas & 3 reusable cloth.
The thought of it being reusable is nice because it would actually save you money (no need to buy those wax pulls) & less garbage.... but i think i prefer using pulls just because this cheese cloth makes waxing so messy & sticky! I immediately hated it! Good thing that i have excess pulls the time that i used this so it was better. hahaha!

Let's go on to the wax itself. Once you open it the sweet scent of honey will tease your nose. It's a honey wax,of course!

For those who love the scent of honey you have to have this. it looks & smell like honey that i was tempted to even taste it. haha!

It's said that you can use it hot or cold. The 1st time time i used this was cold because i was at home & we don't have a microwave here. The next time i went to my parent's house just to be able to use it hot. I don't think it makes that much of a difference though.

Anyway, here is how it looks like when you slather it on your skin...

You'll see all those hairs that are waiting to be pulled out... then i use the included reusable cloth for pictorial purpose only.. haha! told ya that i like the pulls better.

Once you pull it, the hairs will be removed but you'll be left with the sticky feel of it.
gahhh!!! I don't like the after-feel of it!

Yes, it's hair-free but the sticky feeling is just something that i can't abide.
I prefer not to wet my skin after waxing just because i think it's not a good idea to introduce water immediately to the open pores (it's just my personal preference). I would wait for a couple of hours before i take a bath or do anything wet after waxing. That's why i do my waxing after bathing. But with this, i just had to wash my skin with water upon using.

I like how it leaves my skin smooth & soft after (is it because of the honey?) compare to wax strips but the stickiness is preventing me from liking it.

Compare to wax strips that includes the cleanse-off wipes to get rid of excess wax, this one doesn't. It only includes the after wax salve & i'm not sure if i have to actually use it even if my skin is all sticky. I just have to rinse the wax off by washing it & that doesn't sit well in my vocabulary as what i said.

Speaking of the After Wax Salve, I'm sorry but i can't find my pictures of it. :(
But anyway, it's white & it has this easy-to-absorb lotion-like texture which is nice. It makes the skin soft after use. I like it! Maybe if you'll ask me what i like better between the two, i'll choose the salve over the wax..hahaha!

I can't remember the price of this in Watsons so i'll just update this post once i'm sure of it but then it's not that expensive to start with.

PROS:

  • locally available
  • uses natural ingredients
  • if you're a honey-lover you'll simply adore this
  • it works
  • can be used hot or cold
  • leaves skin smooth after waxing
CONS:
  • leaves a sticky residue!
Will i buy it?

I guess i could buy the Salve, if it's available for separate purchasing, but not the wax itself.
Don't get me wrong, the wax is great! It leaves skin smooth & soft compare to wax strips but i just can't abide the stickiness!
*sigh*

As what i said, you love honey, you just have to try it! It smells heavenly! hahaha!

I might not be able to post much because i have loads of classes but i do make it a point to read blogs even if i am not able to leave comments.

Hope you are enjoying the long holiday, ladies!

Believe in B.liv's Dump Off Drawn! I do!

I was contacted by B.liv weeks ago to try out their products. I have been so lazy in applying any skin care products lately that I can alrea...
