Bobbie's Heavenly Glitz Collection

As promised, here are swatches for the polishes in this new Bobbie Collection, together with some possible 'dupes' from the Deborah Lippman. The thing that makes them different from DL is the amount of glitters but i could say that they could be a cheaper alternative.

L to R:The Big Bang, Star Gazer, Solar Burst & Super Nova

This collection got tons & tons of hexagon-shaped multi-colored glitters on each bottle. Take for the instance the The Big Bang (1st one), you can see how colorful those glitters are on the bottle even without any close-up shots.

Enough with the small talk & let's go straight for the 'meat'.

Let's start with the most 'pigmented' of them all, which is the Super Nova...
Blue Jelly with tons of green hexagon & small round glitters! You can even wear this alone without layering.

See those green glitters?

I love how they put that green glitters to compliment the color of the polish. It looks so nice when you wear them especially if the light reflects on it. This could easily become a favorite of mine it's just that i stay away from dark blue polishes because they stain so bad!

I haven't experienced any staining from this because i just swatched it. I'm not sure if i'll actually be wearing this for even just a day because of the said reason. I'm not ready to risk my nails... they are already 'recovering' from the stains that it got when i still got long nails.

This looks like a great dupe for Deborah Lippman's Across the Universe.

When i used it, i just used it alone but i bet that when you apply a black/dark blue polish over it it could come as close to this or maybe you can use 3 coats, just like what she said HERE to get that really nice opacity.

Way to go, Bobbie!

Then The Big Bang which is black jelly with lots of multi-colored hexagon glitters & millions of small round silver ones.

Well, obviously, you can only layer this on dark polishes & won't look good when worn alone. If you do, it will just look like horrible.

I think this could be a good alternative to Deborah Lippman's Happy Birthday.

It's just that Bobbie has tiny round silver glitters compare to Deborah Lippman is round multi-colored glitters.. hence i just used the word alternative or maybe Milani's Jewel FX Gems too...

The amount of glitters is of course, noticeable. DL's amount is outstanding in just one coat, Bobbie on the other hand is not a lot but you can just build it up anyway.

Next is the Solar Burst which is a gold jelly polish laden with gorgeous multi-colored hexagon glitters (with small green flakies too!) that floats on tiny round yellow pool of glitters!

The name fits this one perfectly... Solar Burst... you'll definitely feel the power of the sun on your nails once it hits the light.

I layered this over a dark polish but i think it will be better if you layer over on a gold or yellow polish since the base formula of this one is yellow/gold. Wearing this alone will just make your nails look like it got a bad stain..like how my ring & pinkie nail looks like. I don't have a bad nail stain anymore but it looks horrible here.

Possible alternative?
I can't believe it... Deborah Lippman's Boom Boom Pow is the closest that i found except that Bobbie has multi-colored hexagon ones while DL only has gold hexagons.

Well, that's the closest that i've found...

Last is the Star Gazer.. my least favorite.

A peachy-pink jelly with chunky silver hexagon-shaped glitters and millions of round opalescent tiny glitters!

I swatched it over a black polish (pointer finger),white polish (middle finger), pale pink polish (ring finger) & just on it's own. It looks nice on it's own.Layering it over pink polish would make the glitters stand out too.

Putting it on white or dark polish doesn't compliment the polish... I just think there's nothing special about this polish because those tiny glitters even though they're opalescent, is not enough to outshine the other3.

Possible dupe?
Hmmm...a bit hard to find one since this is peachy-pink..not really pink..if it's pink it might be comparable to NFU Oh Red Spindle or Color Club's Sakura Glow. In that sense, i can say that this is a unique shade.

This is how they look like with 2-3 thick coats...

I like Super Nova & Solar Burst!
How about you?

Anyway, i think this collection is quite nice.
Each bottle only costs Php 35.50 (less than a dollar) so it's budget-friendly.
Definitely a cheap alternative to expensive polishes! it is also dries a bit fast so it's nice.

I bought mine at Ever Gotesco Grand Central. I know that Bobbie polishes are being sold in Hortaleza. Watson's is not up-to-date with new releases so your best bet is Hortaleza.

My special thanks to one of my facebook beauty sister!
Alam mo na kung sino ka..hehe.
She was the one who informed me about this new collection. Love, love, love our fb talk!
*hugs*

Have a great day!

Spotted:Bobbie Heavenly Glitz Collection

A quick post for my spotted tag.

Bobbie, my favorite local polish brand, has released a new collection called Heavenly Glitz Collection.
I am not a fan of glitter polishes but this is something that i can easily like.

It is consist of 4 polishes that got this outrageous colorful glitters on it! Not just glitters but also flakies as well! It is dee-vine! A keeper especially for those who love glitter polishes!

left to right: The Big Bang, Star Gazer, Solar Burst & Super Nova

I like the names!
It's so galactic! I especially love the Solar Burst & The Big Bang. They are perfect for layering over dark polishes!

I'll be providing swatches tomorrow once i've taken a good picture of everything.

Hope you are enjoying your evening!

cumulative haul + false lashes

First of all, i want to greet you all a Happy Hearts Day!
Hope that you all had good memories for this years Valentines celebration. I'm not big on valentines though.

I haven't done a haul post for weeks now. Frankly, i just don't have enough time to blog that much even though i do try to comment regularly, so i don't have the luxury of time anymore to do other posts aside from reviews or tutorials.
*sigh*
Isogashii, isogashii, isogashii~!

Some of the products that i have here have been purchased a few weeks back...

Anyway, last week, i went to the PO, & that is something that i am not really looking forward to because i have read a lot of new "rules" that happens in retrieving packages. i'm just glad that i was spare from the claws of the Customs officer!
whew!

Maggie of KKCenterHK contacted me a couple of weeks back asking me if i could do a review for their false lashes. As what you all know, i have short, sparse lashes so i always depend on mascaras & falsies in giving life to my eye. I was so happy that she trusted me enough to do a review. I'll do a separate post for it some other time.

The black box contains 10 pairs of lashes, while the other 4 individual lashes are all lower falsies! Yay! I 'll be able to try wearing lower lashes!

Speaking of Falsies, when i went to meet my friend last Lunar New Year, we went to the Beauty Bar & i grabbed these 2 falsies as well. I never knew that Andrea falsies are a lot cheaper compare to Ardell! Now, i know where i have to buy falsies whenever i need to!

I have been using the MAC Lip Conditioner for quite sometime now... Review will be posted after a couple of weeks for i want to really be able to test it out before i give my final say.

I have stopped using moisturizer as what i said before, but when i tried using Eskinol + Dalacin C to treat my acne, i noticed that my skin went from very oily to combination so to combat the dryness in certain areas, i decided to try Celeteque for i know that it is the only moisturizer that doesn't have any benefits at all aside from the "moisturization". I decided to try the one that got spf though....

Then, when i first saw the new stall in Watson which is the Crayon, i decided to try 2 of their polish since i haven't seen this brand yet.

I have to say that the glittery orange shade is pretty good!

This has been my to-go nail polish ever since i got it!
I never did like orange when i was a kid, but now i am loving it!

Then last but not the least would be a couple more polishes as well, plus a new hair conditioner!

I said before that my favorite TFS Nail Pleasure Top Coat is about to be discontinued so i am slowly buying back-ups to make sure that i have enough stock with me... As for the white bottle, it is a nail whitener but i haven't really fully tested it though....

The 3 polishes tat i bought from Bobbie are from the HOT Collection & i plan to collect them as well! Nail Polish Solvent is a must for those who has a lot of nail polishes so i bought another bottle as a back up + my favorite body lotion which is the Johnson's Baby Milk Lotion. I'm addicted to the scent of this lotion. It smells so good!!!!!

Lastly, I have tried the Opal Hair Treatment which is in the pink tube, but i decided to give this a shot. I don't know if this would be a good substitute for my favorite Cream Silk Conditioner, but we'll see.

Well, there ya go!
I'm hoping that i'll be able to post some reviews for this week.

Hope you all are enjoying your Valentines day, girls!

Bobbie's Holoprism Collection

As what i said before when i bought this that i am really happy that Bobbie, our local nail polish brand, has made holographic polishes. When i bought Vodka on Ice, i went back to the mall just to ask the SA if they have other polishes like that & im glad that she whipped out her list of polishes & i saw that this certain polish belongs in the collection that they call "Holoprism". How cute!

So, going back, i have the whole collection with me & since i promised to do a swatch of it so here they are. It's quite hard for me to take pictures of their holographic-ness... i tried to but i just can't get it quite right. Some are already old swatches that's why my nails are shorter in other pics.. Now im sporting a square nails compare to my usual oval shaped nails.

Let's start it first with my 2 favorites among the lot... Purple Passion & Mudslide.

Let's go with Purple Passion first...

It is a gorgeous purple holographic nail polish. I can easily easily achieve a good color payoff with this with just 2 coats. You can go for 3 coats if you want to, but if you buff your nails beforehand you can get away with just 2...just like me!

I said before that this almost looks like Color Club's Fashion Addict... well, it does if i compare it side by side

Looks almost the same,right?

But not exactly...

Fashion Addict is more silvery, while Purple Passion is really purple... but both are gorgeous!

Then my other favorite is the Mudslide...

It is a bronze holographic polish... It's bronze & it's holographic...enough said! LOL!
Seriously, i think this is a really good combination...very unique by itself. Most holos are only silver, pinks, & darks... but bronze is a really good base color to be combined with holographic effect! Love it sooooo much!

Next is Mojito...

A nice maroon holographic polish. Since this is a dark holo polish, then the effect is quite obvious.

Another is the Vodka on Ice...

A nice white-silvery holo polish. This is the 1st one that i got from this collection so this is already an old swatch from my previous post.

Then Weng Weng...

I will not say that this a black-based holo polish..i think it's more of like dark blue-green shade. Whatever it is, it is a good dark holo! I made a post before with this polish... check it HERE.

Then these are my 2 least "like" among the lot... Margarita & Mint Daiquiri

I have to say that Margarita is a very cute pink polish... but since this is supposed to be a holo polish, you can't really quite get the feeling that it is holographic. This is a good base if you are doing nail arts though.. it can also be a good color on it's own but if you want a pink-"im wearing a holo polish" effect.. then this is not for you..

This is my most hated polish from this collection... Mint Daiquiri

It just doesn't hold any appeal to me... i think it's a gold holo, but it's so sheer that it feels like you will only get the full effect if you apply 5 coats, which i will not do considering that i have trouble with the drying time of this.Just like margarita, this is a pretty base for doing nail arts though..

I really do have an issue when it comes to drying time... it dries so slow!

Ok, i have an OPI Mediterranean Moonlight which i don't use for i don't have the patience to wait. I guess you could say that i am impatient when it comes to nail polish drying time, but i just don't have the luxury of time so i hate polishes that dries a long time! So are Bobbie polishes imo.

But other than that, im still happy with these collection! For Php 33 each bottle, which is less than $1, this is a good buy...

Whew!
First post this month of love!

Most asian countries will be celebrating the Lunar New Year & up until now i haven't made a lunar new year nail art....ekkkk!!! I hope i'll be able to make one just in time.

Well, gotta go now!

Have a great day/evening,hunnies!

Bobbie's Foil it Collection

The current collection that Bobbie released was the Foil It Collection which only has 3 shades. I hope that Bobbie would come up with more shades for this is a great collection!

As what the name says, the effect of this is more of a metallic foil effect. It's very opaque & you would only need to do 2 coats just to be able to have that full look.

This is how the 3 polishes look like...

I included the name of the shade of the 3 in the pic & how it looks like on the bottle.

First is the Adored shade...

It's a really pretty metallic burgundy-ish! I'm sorry if i wasn't able to take a pic of it in natural light for it was already a bit dark when i was able to swatch the shade. What you see on the bottle is actually the shade that you will be getting.

Second is the Charmed shade...

This is my favorite amongst the 3 for it is a great metallic bronze-ish polish. Really pretty! Love it to bits!

Last is the Electrified shade...

A great metallic silver polish! This is something that really screams silver! If you are tired of the usual silver that doesn't hold an appeal then you ought to try this for this really catches attention! It's metallic so naturally it would do that...hehe

I'm really happy that Bobbie has a good selection of polishes without paying for an exorbitant price. The only thing that i'm having trouble with this brand is that the drying time is quite slow. It could be touch dry after a couple of minutes but the fully dry stage takes after a couple of hours.

Yes, a couple of hours! Would you believe if i said that i applied it in the evening, waited for 2 hours to dry... then i fell asleep waiting. The next day when i woke up, there were hair marks all over my polish. It wasn't completely destroyed, but hair marks after 2 hours (or who knows if it even exceeded than that for i wasn't keeping a close tab on the clock)!?

Come on!!!
Isn't that annoying?!
Mukatsuku!!!!
(-__-")

I also have the Holoprism collection, right? Drying those is a pain in the neck!
Bobbie, please do something about this! I don't have any negative things about Bobbie except the drying time though.

What can i say about it more?...It's locally available (of course!), cheap (it's only Php33 or $0.75) , doesn't have limited time in each specific collection, doesn't contain the big 3 toxic nail polish ingredients.... but the drying time is the only thing that's holding me back. Is it because it doesn't contain toulene?!

Oh, maybe one thing too, that i personally want is to be able to have this in a bigger bottle. Most Bobbie polishes are only 8 ml... though there are also other shades that are being sold in a bigger bottle, which i think is 15ml, but that's very limited. The shades i think are the usual neutral colors... The funky nail shades are only packed in the smaller bottle though.

If Bobbie would be able to come up with a better formulation but retains the shade, then this is something that would be highly recommended! But nevertheless, it is a good brand.

For my fellow pinays out there, am i the only one having trouble with the drying time? What's your experience? How can i make this dry faster?! This is really annoying!

Hope you could give me a tip or two~

Have a great day!

Weekend Haul: Bobbie's Holoprism collection!

Since i am on a nail phase & i love holographic polishes, when i discovered the Bobbie Vodka on Ice I just have to check back to know if there are more. I am glad to know that Vodka on Ice is a part of the Holoprism collection! I don't know when this was released but it doesn't matter since it seems like Bobbie is not like those foreign brands that has limited period when a collection will be on sale. So i bought the polishes that i don't have & now i have them!

left to right: Vodka on Ice, Mudslide, Purple Passion, Margarita, Mint Daiquiri, Mojito

Well, not quite for i am missing the "Weng Weng" shade, but since the Mutya's Panglao Drive is almost like it so it's no sweat. I'm already happy for i have my own holographic polishes!

I'm really so happy that Bobbie, our very own local brand, makes great polishes! Again, sorry if im not able to take good pics of their holographic-ness for the sun was playing tricks on me.

Mudslide

Mint Daiquiri (mild holo)

Mojito (1 of my favorite!)

Purple Passion (I can't believe it, but this looks almost like Color Club's Fashion Addict!)

Margarita (mild holo)

I'll post some nail swatches some other time. Especially the purple passion, for it almost closely resembles Fashion Addict! I have to do that tomorrow or else i won't be able to fall asleep not knowing if it does. LOL!

Last Saturday, I met with Sis Honey because she bought a couple of stuff from my blogsale. She is really pretty & friendly. I felt so guilty because i was so late for my persistent back pains has been bothering me for almost a week. Doctor said that it could be rheumatism linked to obesity. I know i need to lose weight & now i should really do it. In fact, i have already been gathering info on what gym will be best suited for me.

Anyway, going back, since i am already in the mall i decided to go around. I told myself that i don't really need to buy anything but when i passed by the toiletries section of Landmark i was doomed! I wasn't able to help myself especially when i saw the Delon Cotton Rounds! I was so happy!

The first time that i used Delon Cotton Rounds was when my family & I went to Subic for last year's summer vacation. I bought it at Pure Gold & has been regretting not buying a lot. Knowing that i can buy this when i ran out of it just makes me happy. I'll most probably be making a post about why i got so excited over this certain cotton rounds. Actually, up until now i am thinking if i should make a post about it for it seems pointless making a post about cotton rounds...LOL!

Then when i passed by Elianto, the usual Php 199 polishes are on sale & i got them only for Php 80. I decided to take advantage of it & grabbed 3 colors...

left to right: Racing Green,Night Glitters, Divine Gold

Sorry if it looks blurry... took this pic in the night & i forgot to take pics in the morning. I'll take a better pic when i do swatches. I'm not a fan of glitter polishes that's why i only bought 3 even though the price slash is even more than half. So for those who love this certain Elianto line, better take advantage of it. I think they will be on sale up until mid-week of January (not really sure though). I visited Landmark Makati, im not sure if the "sale" is applicable to other branches as well.

I have to buy a couple of things for me as well...toiletries, clothes, etc... Why is it that we women are so weak against the "sale" sign? What is it about the letter combination S-A-L-E that we get so worked up? LOL!

When i passed by Watson at SM Valenzuela on the way to visit Walter, & saw the Crayon stall i notice that they had a very cute Nail Hardener in an adorable bottle.

Sorry for the pic... will post a better pic later on. The brand is supposed to be a Japanese but i haven't heard of this yet. They also carry cosmetics as well like eyeshadows, blushes, face powder, lipstick, etc. But again, i don't want to apply make-up as much as possible so i don't see the need to buy it even just for trying it out.

I sure do hope that my acne clears out. I am using Eskinol + Dalacin C & it's working a bit. It was highly recommended by Sis Louie so i have to give it a try. I tried it before but i bought the big bottle & she said it's better to use the smaller one together with 1 capsule of 150mg Dalacin C. I do still break out every now & then but it was able to dry my zits faster. I'll be continuing this routine for 2 months then i'll make a review about it after.

Walter was sick & i decided to drop by without telling him. OMG! He was so shocked when he saw me. I should have taken a pic of him..LOL- talking about unexpected visits..hehe. I signaled to his mom & his cousin to not say a thing when they saw me & we were just waiting for him to notice me. It took him a minute before he noticed that i was standing in front of him. He opened his mouth, uttered "Oh!" then clutched his chest! ahahaha! I won't ever forget that scene! Even his mom was laughing at him! LOL

Buying nail polishes are not as expensive compare to buying make-up. So i guess in a way, i can still do retail therapy without breaking my bank!

Weekend is over & now it's time to work again.
*sigh*
I'm still on a weekend mode though... hehe

Hope y'all will have a good start for your week.
Have a great day/evening!

Believe in B.liv's Dump Off Drawn! I do!

I was contacted by B.liv weeks ago to try out their products. I have been so lazy in applying any skin care products lately that I can alrea...
