BFF Challenge: Flowers~

Wow!
I can't believe this is the last BFF Challenge. It feels like it was just last week since we started it.LOL!
Since this is the last challenge, i recreated one of my personal favorite among all the ones that i made.

If you had seen my Camellia Nail Art, you know what i'm talking about. Making it this time is a lot easier compare to the first time. It took me an hour & a half, i think compare with half a day before so i think i am already improving my painting skills,no?

Taking pictures for this was so frustrating because my camera isn't focusing (it really needs to be saved asap) & the fact that the design on my thumb is leaning on to the left area, i can't quite take full nail pictures of the whole design. tsk!

Sorry about the dust particles there.
Bf said that i can take it out by using an air spray thingy but i'm scared that it will just push the dust further to the lens.

A close-up look of the thumb. I think the thumb has the best design of them all, don't you think so?
I didn't watermark it just because i don't want to alter the resolution of it anymore since i can't take macro shots anymore.

Here's to hoping no one will steal my picture & claim it as their own. I'll be seriously pissed if someone will take credit for this when IT IS ME who shed sweat & effort trying to make this as perfect as i can.

So, what do you think?
I have a tutorial for this nail art HERE. You can just take a look at it if you want to try making this nail art too.

I am really liking this base .
It's a duochrome,actually. I'll blog about it tomorrow. It's another Ebalay polish!yay!
It is really gorgeous under the sun together with the silver design that i painted on, makes it really pop!

Another design i made earlier this week. This looks a lot better in person just because the base is a glitter polish. The glitters go all sparkly & shiny every time you move your fingers.

Well,i had fun doing the challenge.
I'm not sure if we'll start another one but for now, my main priority is to have my camera fixed. I don't want to buy another one because this camera has a sentimental value on me. I sure hope that Samsung will be able to fix this asap.

BFF Challenge:Cath Kidston

We're down to the 2nd to the last BFF Challenge.
This is Sally's week & i love her chosen themes! Cath Kidston & Flowers!
Cath Kidston for now...

I do not really know who or what is Cath Kidston so i did some googling & when i found out about it. I fell in love! It screams girly & you all know i love girly prints!

So, here's my version of a CK nail art~

You have to check out Cath Kidston to know what i'm talking about!
It just screams homey & cuteness!
hahaha

This is an easy nail art, except for the thumb but the polka dots & that flower bud is easy.
Again, i promise to make a tutorial for it once my camera is up for it.
Just a couple more & i'll be able to send it to the service center. I'll be without a camera for a while but i guess it's ok.hehe

A close up look of them...
The thumb~

 I love this design!
I'll make a tutorial on how i did the rose sometime.
Then the rest of the nails~

What do you think?
Kawaii,ne?
I got lots of compliments about my nail today! I'm just grateful that no one insisted that these are stickers or else i will be slapping their faces..LOL!

I'm looking forward to the last challenge because i adore flowers.
Don't you all?
hehehe

Have a happy day!

BFF Challenge:Music~

I wasn't able to post my music-inspired nails last thursday for the BFF Challenge. I'll be putting it up now even if i'm almost a week late. The theme was chosen by Caitlin.

The weather has been pretty bad the time when i did this so the picture is not that good because the lighting is not enough. I have been thinking of a specific song that i could base my nail art on but i can't seem to find a specific song so i just thought of painting on musical notes & piano keys.

It looks quite dull so i just had to add the shaped rhinestones for an added flair.

Until the next challenge!
Hope you all are having a great day.

BFF Challenge:Girly Nail Art for short nails~

Another nail art for this week from the group challenge.
This theme is something that is very dear to my heart. If you have been following my nail art posts for quite a while you might notice that most of my designs are leaning towards it being girly... mostly pinks, flowers & dots.

I have been prepping up for this theme for a few days now. The main design that i wanted to do is just so difficult for me to hand paint for now. I needed more practice to be able to do it but i will definitely do that design one of these days.

Going back, here are the nail arts that i've done for the girly design~
First one is this...
I rather like this one and yes,i did it with my short nails! I've had lot of people asking me what nail arts can be done with short nails. Every design can be done with short nails,of course!

Here's a close-up look of them one by one...

The design is easy except for the rose,ne?

Hand painted by yours truly

You can do this too! Check the links below for the tutorial.

This is something easy yet adorable!

Too bad the color is washed out but these are laces...hehe

I don't think i need to do a tutorial for this anymore since i've done most of the design.
You can click HERE to see my post about how to do the rose.
You can click HERE to see my post about how to do the heart.
You can click HERE to see my post about how to do the lace.

You can do the dots yourselves,ne?
Hope that you could sport at least one of the designs that i did here.

One more that i forgot to add...
I'll teach you how to make the lace some other time when i can take macro shots once more..hehe

Then another girly design that i did when i still had my faux nails on. This was done a week ago i think...
Just something to jumpstart my girly-ness. hehe

Next BFF Nail Art Challenge would be next Thursday & it;s gonna be a striping tape mani.
I promise that there would be a tutorial by then for you all.

I hope that you'll have a happy Saturday!

Weekend Nail: Customize Framed Nail Art

In my case, i choose a butterfly design so i call my design as Framed Butterfly. An easy-to-do nail art!

This design is yours to personalized. You can basically do any kind of designs that you want! You can use decals or stamps or freehand design. The choice is endless!

Mostly i do my nails on my own now, unlike before where i have to take pics every step of the way. If you notice, whenever i post my picture tutorial i just compile them in 1 picture to make it easier & also to save space. So, you may see a different design/color on the tutorial picture compare to the finished work. It also shows how you can customized any designs that i have made on your own personal preference.

The key to make this nail art stand out more is to choose contrasting colors. Though in this case, i wasn't able to since i just decided to make do with what i have on my nails when i did it. I used my Midnight Fantasy as a base.

Gosh,i love holo polishes! haha!
Don't we all?

Click the picture for a bigger image.

1. Start with your choice of base. This time i choose a pink holo base (my own franken too). You can choose glittery bases too! I'm sure it's gonna look fab!
2. Make a wide rectangle (for long nails or square for short nails) with your choice of frame color. Choose one that is in contrast with your base color, or any color you prefer.
3. Once your rectangle (or square) is ok, then apply the color outside the shape to make a frame like in number 3.
4. Apply your design. I choose a Hello Kitty decal just because my base is pink. You can use decals, stamps, fimo or freehand design on the rectangle. Just make sure that you don't crowd your design near the frame.
5. In my case, i painted swirls on the edge of my shape. If you are not confident enough in doing swirls by hand, you can just put dots (on the edges of the frame or on the frame itself), big or small lines (vertical or horizontals), hearts, etc. Again, it's your choice. This is entirely up to you.
6. Then of course, make sure you apply top coat!

Voila!
Your very own customized nail art!

You don't need to be a professional to do this, with a nail art pen & decals, you can have professional looking nails in no time!

This is a cute nail art this Mother's Day,no?
Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there!

Have a happy celebration!

Weekend Nails:Camellia Nail Art

Thank you so much for the love that you showed for my nail art.

I am so proud of my work that's why i'm really happy that you all appreciate it. So here is my tutorial for that. I did a video & also a picture tutorial to show my appreciation.

I did the video tutorial first so you might notice that there's already a flower on the picture tutorial. The video doesn't have a sound though, but i figured that you might want to see how i was able to do it in real time. This is also the nail wheel that i used for my Yummy Sweets Collection! haha

When you work with acrylic, make sure that you have a towel/cotton soaked in alcohol. It makes getting off the acrylic easier than just plain water. That's why it's better to put top coat on your base color before you start working on the designs so that you would be able to protect your base color.

Another thing to remember is that you can't use the acrylic itself, you have to dilute it with water. It will make painting a lot easier. Just add a drop or two or water.

I used a navy blue base & a blue base. You can choose different color combinations too.
Black base & gold will look mighty good too! The choice is entirely yours to make.

Click the picture to see it better.

1. Using a detailing brush, put a tiny circle to start your flower.
2. Add 5 tiny curves facing the flowers to act as petals.
3. Then add random lines on the inside of the petals.
4. Repeat the process of adding more petals, around the flower that you had just made.
5. Just like in number 3, add random lines going to the inside of the petals to add definition.
6. Add a leaf or two.
7. Add in more details on like like swirls or buds. Make sure you finish it with top coat.

Time to admire your new nail art!
I used my cheap brush in making this, you can see on the video that i used it.

Tell me if you are able to do this nail art, hunnies!
I would love to see your nail art too.
^_^

Have a happy weekend!

my best nail art as of yet!walang kokontra!

hahaha!
No one could contradict my statement that this is my best mani as of yet simply because it is the best one so far! If the picture doesn't justify it, the effort that i took in making each & every painstaking detail of it would.

I can't take credit for the originality of this because this is actually the original work of Misuzu Taga from Nail Up!'s Vol.44. I have a lot of respect for japanese nail artist & Taga-san is one of my most favorite nail artist! Thank you to my onee-san for sending me a copy of it! This nail art is for you!

Look at the original design compare to my work.

Argh!
I really wanted to be able to make more petals & make it smaller but it's almost impossible for me to do so. As what i ranted on my facebook, i never realize that too much concentration could result in high blood pressure, muscle cramping, light-headedness,etc in just a matter of an hour!

But it's all worth it just because when i finally finished it, it looks amazing! Again, not really comparable with Taga-san's work but i did my best. Here is a close-up look of how messy everything looks.

Now, no one would dare make an assumption that this is a decal because you'll see the brush strokes & uneven color. I said that i would slap anyone who insisted that this is a nail sticker. haha!

I'm not a violent person by nature, mind you. I don't even watch boxing just because i consider it a violent activity.haha! But there was a time when someone told me how nice my "nail sticker" looks like when i was shopping before & i got really annoyed. Here is our conversation:

lady: Wow! Ang ganda naman ng nail art mo! (your nail art looks pretty)
me: Thank you po!
lady: Sticker to no? San mo binili? (this is sticker,no?where did you buy it?)
me: Hindi, ginawa ko. (no, i made it)
lady: Kaya nga, dinikit mo,diba? (yeah, you stick it on,right?)
me: Hindi, ako ang nagpinta sa kuko ko. (no, i am the one who painted it on my nails)
lady: Weh! Mukhang stickers lang o! (oh? it looks like stickers)
me: *getting annoyed already* Hindi nga, ako nga ang nagpinta. Ganito lang yan o... (No, i really did paint it. It's just like this)... *explains how to*
lady: Oo nga no! Ang galing! Posible pala yun! (yeah!that's great!that's possible!)
me: O,diba, kayang gawin sa kamay lang. (see? it's possible to do it by hand.)
lady: Pero muka pa ding sticker ha. (but it still looks like sticker)

What the?!
Can you blame me? LOL!

I started this yesterday evening & i stopped halfway just because i am already too drained. This was how it looked like halfway done. I decided to change my pinkie design this morning because i think it doesn't look good.

I woke up really early just to finish this work.
I'm mighty proud of how this looks like!

So please, walang kokontra, maganda talaga ang nail art ko!hahaha (So please, don't contradict because my nail art looks beautiful!)
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!

By the way, i used my cheap brush for this work. See?
The price is not the factor how you should judge a product.

Hope you are having a great day, ladies!

Weekend Nails:Flowery Stripes

I was sick the past couple of days so i wasn't that active online.

I'm still not 100% ok but at least i already feel like human. haha
I just want to share my weekend nails. The only part of me that was cheery the past couple of days was my nails the rest were blah!

I just used acrylic nails for i cut my real nails since it was stained bad from the polish that i used when i swatched it. Don't you think it looks pretty?

The sad part about this is that the difficult thing to do in this design are not the flowers. the flowers are so dang easy, but putting on the striping tape took most of my time!
*sigh*

Do you want me to make a tutorial on this nail art?
If so just tell me & i'll do one for you.

Here is a closer look so you'll get to see the white flakes on the black part.
Kirei de sho?

Hope you all have a good start for this week.
I hope that i would also be feeling better later to have my classes, but i think i'll try not to.
I'll just have it tomorrow, i guess.

Have a great day,ladies!

Weekend Nails: Easy Lace Design

A quick post for tonight....

I had this sitting on my draft for a long time. I have been contemplating if i would actually finish this post because i am not satisfied with the look but since Sis Relyn Anne requested that i put it up so i am making this post especially for her.

Thank you so much for "liking" my FB page, sweetie.
I do appreciate the time you take reading my posts.

I just added the rhinestones to have a bit of color. You can get away with just dots or anything. You can also use this to just prettify the usual french twist.. giving it a twist!

Let's start...

1. As usual, choose your own base color. Mine is a golden beige iridescent polish.

2. I put white polish on the top half of my nails, applying it sideways. Then using white acrylic/polish, i draw half circles on the edge of the line. This would be the shape of our lace.

3. Using a dotting tool, put white dots on the edge of the white line like so...

4. Using the same dotting tool, apply dots on the half circles that we drew. Just make sure that you don't overcrowd the dots by giving it a bit of space so that the whole dot will be shown to make it softer.

Again, this is just the lace tutorial.
I will make a full lace tutorial sometime.

Have a great evening,ladies!

Weekend Nails: Yin Yang inspired~

I was watching Karate Kid last week & for some reason i feel like making a nail art when i saw the Yin Yang. I came up with an design that was inspired by it but completely different from the real one.

This design is easy!
I'm sure you can do the pointer & ring finger design because they are just random dots so i'll just be making a tutorial on the middle & pinkie.

All you need here is just a dotting tool. As what i said again & again, if you don't have a dotting tool you can use a bobby pin instead.

1. Start with your desired base color. In my case, i choose an iridescent peach that has golden shimmers. Too bad you can't see the beauty of golden shimmers because my camera is having a hard time catching it...

2. Using a fine pointed brush make the curved line to serve as a guide. If your hand is steady enough, you can skip this & just go straight to the 3rd step.

3. Using black polish, fill the other half of the nails with it like in the picture.

4. With your dotting tool, add the dots on the edge of the black polish like in the picture. Use the bigger end on the edge of the black polish, then use the small end on top of the 1st dots that you made.

5. Once it's dried, add white dots on the edge of the 1st dots that you made just to break the monotony of the black.

6. You can add Swarovski rhinestones on the center of the flower in the ring & pointer finger if you want.

Don't forget your top coat!

My fingernails are already getting longer but i still can't shape it how i want then to be, most likely i'll be going for a square tip again.

Hope you all will have a good day!

Weekend Nails:Funky Black & White Nails

It's already Friday...weekend again!
How fast time flies!

It's already October. I'll be turning a year older again. It seems like a couple of years ago, i just graduated high school. Now i'll be 26... Next thing i know im already 45! hehehe

I don this look weeks ago but just wasn't able to post it & it seems like it's high time that i post it before this lie unforgotten in my draft.Sorry if it looks messy, for i took this pic while this is wet & haven't cleaned the edges yet. Plus my hands were getting a bit shaky lately... but let's just focus on the design & not the mess, ok?

I want to spice things out by making a very funky nail art. I haven't shopped for nail polishes so i have a very few choices of nail polish colors. But since i want it funky so i'll just go for my favorite black & white combination.

What's fun in doing this nail design is that it doesn't have a rule at all. This is pure wildness & randomness. The only thing you'll be needing would be a dotting tool, brush with thin bristle, & your inner funky-ness.

Armed with that, let's get to the pictures... Yes, it's just pictures because i don't really want to call it tutorial because this look doesn't have a "rule". Actually, as i was doing this, i forgot to take pictures because i just go along as i designed it.

It's more of a random free-style type of nail art. This is the first time that i did a rather outrageous but funky nail design & i receive a lot of compliments when i did this. I was at the bus when the bus conductor actually held my hand (thankfully the conductor is a lady) & asked me if it was stickers. I told her that i made it using nail polish & she said that it looked nice.

Although it is actually pretty messy for i did this is the evening & i did not notice that i fell asleep before it completely dries.

Whenever i do nail arts, i try to use a lighter color as my base (aside from the base coat,of course) because using dark colors makes the nails yellow-er. I personally hate it when my nails turn yellow that's why i remove my nail polish by monday or tuesday at the most for i want my nails to at least have a break before i do another nail design.

So, here, the base color of this design is white...

Then i drew all the details using a pointed artist's brush... plus a dotting tool in making the design. As you see here, i dip the tip of the brush on a black nail polish so that i could make a pattern for my nails...

like so... I left the pointer & little finger bare because i plan to put black stripes on them while the other 3 fingers would have different designs...

See the stripes? it's not a uniform stripe since this nail art is funky so i put more on the little finger compare to the pointer finger.

I'm sorry girls, if i wasn't able to take a pic of how i did the other fingers as i just did it as i go along. Pressing the shutter was far from my mind as i was busy designing my nails but with the pattern that i did at the top, it will just guide you on how i did this.

Like i filled the others with black while putting black dots too. The main point of this design is to be random but at the same time to show the contrast between the 2 strong colors.

A little note, once you drew the pattern on your nails that's the time that you decide what nails you should fill with black polish. Fill the part where you think you did a messy line. Like in my case take a closer look at the thumb.. you'll see that i didn't really do a good job in lining it but i manage to 'fix' it by filling it out with black polish to cover up the poor job that i did.

You only need to let your imaginations work & think out of the box.
Hope y'all like this!

Jaa~!
