another franken polishes + my failed valentines nail design

I've been so into frankening polishes lately. I guess it's because of the influence of our nail art group but it's just so fun to do it~! hahaha!

Anyway, here are 2 glitter polishes that i've made. I included the blurry photo so that you can see how the effect of the glitter is, since i found that it's easier to show the blingy effect blurred. I don't have any names for them yet.
Can you help me name them?

Please excuse the chip at the edge of the nail because i swatched this last night & wasn't able to take picture until this morning.

I used a green flaky polish together with a few drops of holo polish & also an iridescent shimmer! This is under a black base.

This one just have a hint of holo base effect together with a holo glitter polish!
Yay! I love holographics!

Since this is all nail talk, i would also like to share the first nail design that i did for this month. I find it messy & the shape of my hearts are not really equal i just didn't feel like making a tutorial but i guess i could still share it because it took me a while doing this. I just wasn't satisfied with how i traced the heart though...

If you still want me to post the tutorial for this one just tell me though i have to say that i am not comfortable with you seeing how messy the process is..
LOL!

So, give me some suggestions for my glitter polishes,ok?
have a great day!

Valentines nails: Valentines Leopard~

Another short post...
I know that i'm late in posting this nail art tutorial..hehe
Better late than never,ne?

Sorry for the messy & dry cuticles.
I haven't cleaned it yet because i don't want to risk destroying it because i can't apply top coat on the hearts.
The buillions' color will fade if i apply top coat... such a shame!

Materials needed:
  • pink polish base
  • white polish/acrylic
  • detailing brush
  • red acrylic/striping pen
  • gold buillions (or glitters, pearls, rhinestones, etc!

Let's start with the tutorial:
Click the picture for a bigger image

1. Choose your base color, pink preferably for that love-vibes.
2. Add random white dots...
3. It doesn't need to be uniform.
4. Then using a red acrylic/nail art striping polish trace the edges of the white prints.
5. The random looking it is the better... to make it look like real leopard prints. rawr!
6. With your red acrylic/ red nail art striping polish trace a heart in the middle of the design.
7. Then fill in the sides with the red acrylic/polish.
8. You can then adjust how small or big you want your heart to be or make sure that the shape is right.
9. Apply your top coat.
10. Using gold buillions, carefully put it one by one...
11. If your top coat dried out, just apply more to make sure that it would stick.
12. Then time to admire your work!

If you don't have buillions, you can use other things to trace the heart. You can go for glitter polishes, rhinestones, faux pearls, etc. You can even leave it bare if you were able to perfectly form the heart!

If you don't want to go all out with the heart shape then you can just do a pink leopard design!

Kawaii,de sho?
Cute,isn't it?

How was your Valentines?
My pare & I are not really into valentines celebration though...hehehe!

Hope you all like this nail art!

Weekend Nails:Girly Pink for short nails

Yes!
A nail design for short nails! Quickie post again...

As what i said before, i cut my nails short for i am sick & tired of seeing my nails with very bad stain. I do miss my long nails but i seem to have miss more the things that i can do when i have short nails. I love scalp massages when i shampoo my hair & also being able to type a lot easier now!

On to the nail art...

This design is better for short nails.
It would look kinda boring in a way if you it with long nails, but then that's just my personal thought.

As always, i leave the choice of colors to you.
You can go for white & blue, black & white, baby pink & hot pink, etc.

You will be needing:
  • base/top coat
  • 2 base colors
  • striping brush/brush that as long thin bristles
  • dotting tool - i lost mine so i just used bobby pin
Instructions:
1. Base Coat first, of course. Then apply the lightest color as your base color first. As what you can see, i did my middle nail the opposite color. It's up to you if you want to do this or just have everything look equal. Then when it's dry, apply a strip of the opposite color in the middle of the nail like so.

2. To do the crisscross design, you will be needing a striping brush. Do one line first then connect it by crisscrossing it to the other.

3. To do the dots & hearts, then a dotting tool is needed. Again, i just used bobby pin because my dotting tool is missing. Making a heart design is quite easy.

4. Top it off with your favorite top coat! It's up to you if you want do all these or just stick with one.

There you go!
An easy nail art for short nails!

No need for make -up! As what i said before... "Nail Polish is my dress, Nail Art is my Accessory!"
hehehe

Hope you are enjoying your sunday, sweeties!

Weekend Nails:King & Queen of Hearts

A quick nail art tutorial post.
I changed my keyboard for now & i am having a hard time typing because the keys are hard to press & i have light touch so i can't blab as usual..
LOL

This design is not hard to do... believe me,hunnies!
Have I ever lied to you?
*puppy eyes*
LOL

I'll leave the choice of color to you. I just did it with the usual black & white but you can try others like blue & pink or yellow & red or purple & lilac too! It's only now that i thought of but gold & black is one of my favorite color combination!

You just need a dotting tool. As what i said over & over if you don't have a dotting tool then just use bobby pins or even a pen that doesn't have an ink anymore!

Dotting tip:
-The bigger the end of your dotting tool, the bigger the dots will be.
So if you want a small heart then just use a small dotting tool, empty pen end is one of the perfect way to create the smallest dots ever!

Let's get on with the tutorial:

1. Alternate your choice of base colors like how i did mine. I made a lunula again, but if you don't want to then it's fine. Let it dry.

2. Time to make the hearts. Just dip your dotting tool on the polish, make a simple dot then drag it downwards going to the center just like on the picture. Once done, use the other color on the opposite color.

3. You can leave it like this or you can add some blings on the lunula area (if you decided that you want to have a lunula). Clean the edges & don't forget your top coat!

See?
I told you this is quick!

Have a safe weekend,hunnies!

Weekend Nails: Heart Overload Nail Design

I feel like i haven't done much freehand nail arts...for the temptation to do a quick professional looking nails by water decal was so strong that i barely touched my nail art stuff.

It's almost Valentines so i decided to do a Valentines nail art & i have to say that i think i'm already out of touch because it took me 40 minutes to do my right hand. Feels like my left hand are shaking too much that i can't quite hold my brush steady. My left hand nail design looks good, but the right hand nails look like a disaster! hahaha!

This is my Valentine's nail design..
I call it Heart Overload because obviously it screams L-O-V-E!

Let's start with the materials you'll be needing first. I made this tutorial ahead of time so you'll notice that the ring fingernail is different.

  • base/top coat
  • red polish
  • white polish
  • detailing brush
  • dotting tool - smallest tip
  • steady hand - important! hahahaha
  • nail art pen (red & white) - this is if you are not used to painting by brush
1. After base coat, apply the white polish as your base color.

2. Using the red polish, apply a strip of it on the upper half of the nails like so.

3. Then take a deep breath, relax & steady your hands in order to do step 1 & 2 & also A & B.hehehe

Feel free to click the pic for a larger view.
Step 1 & 2 - Make half heart shapes using the opposite color, then fill it in. In this case, i did the white hearts first on the red background.
Step A & B - Same with step 1 & 2, Do the remaining half hearts, following the shape that you did at with the white hearts.

Make sure that the line is straight in the middle of the hearts, that's why i said you need a steady hand. You can also use a nail art pen to make this design.

4. Then add another heart at the top & bottom sides of the white & red polish, together with some dots to finish it off. I'm sorry i wasn't able to take a pic when i added the hearts & dots because i did this last night. But just follow this close up picture so that you'll know what i'm talking about. Try to have 4 hearts on each nails so that you'll be able to have an equal number of dots on sides as well.

5. Make sure that you finish it off with a top coat for you don't want to ruin this very cute nail design!

There ya go!
I did this last night & i'm confident that this nail design would last until Valentines day because i'm using my trusted Nail Pleasure Top Coat.
Yawr!

Hope you all will have a good weekend!

Valentines nails: i heart you

I have already decided what i would be sporting for my nails this V-day..although im not big on V-day, but it doesn't hurt for my nails to glam up on that day.

But i have to say that this is 1 of the hardest nail design that i did for the time being since it requires a steady hand & i don't really have a steady hand.

I was just playing with my nail art pens & i came up with these. I even showed it to bf & he said that it looked messy but cute in a way. I guess i just overdid it when i loaded it with hearts, but i think the less hearts there are, the better this is.

It's your choice for this...colors & shapes, that is... If you want to know the shade that i used, i used The Face Shop's nail polish in:

So, let's start with the tut:

  • Apply base coat & base color. I forgot to take a pic of my nails while it is just plain, i hope this would do... Again, i just made my ring finger different, but it's your choice.

  • Then paint half of the nails like so....

  • Make sure that the end of your pen doesn't have any dirt or any blockage.

  • Then start making small hearts....

  • The hardest part is to keep a steady hand..

  • It doesn't need to be perfect..just make sure that the shape is distinguishable

  • You can make random heart shapes to your hearts content..

Then apply a plain polish on top, i suggest that you don't use glittered ones since this is already eye catching on it's own. Putting glittered polish will just cover those hearts.

Hope you like this!

Valentines nails: swirly hearts

First of all, i want to express my gratitude for those who showed support for my Project 10 pan. It means so much to me knowing that my lovely blogger friends are supporting me in this big challenge that i posted for myself. Thank you so much! I will do my best to not be influenced no matter how yummy your hauls are..hehehe. I'll just satisfy my cravings by looking at yours. XD

It's not yet weekend but i decided to do my nails the other day for the upcoming valentines. I would just want t o put up some nail designs before the big day so that if you are planning to do some arts on your date you would have some choices.

Let me start it first with a swirly heart design. i think this is simple yet eye-catching. If you remember my swirly & funky design, this is just a different version of it. This post would just have a mini tut since i have posted a full tut on the 1st one so you might want to check it first.

This is a real quick way to make a fun design.

Sorry if this looks messy since i haven't cleaned the edges yet. Goes to show how messy i am when i do my nail designs..hehe..& this is sort of just like a draft...will glam it up when i feel like doing this design sometime.

Again, check the swirly & funky so that you would have an idea how to do it (although i think thi sis easy).

Let's start:
  • As always, apply a base coat & your base color. Since this is meant for valentines so i just choose a red base.

  • With a choice of your nail art pen, make sure that the edge of your pen is clean

  • Start making a swirl then extend it so that it would serve as half of the heart...then do it with the other half. Randomize it...You don't need to do a uniform one..The more random it is, the better!

  • Add some smaller designs at the edges

There ya go...a quick & easy design that won't require perfection...I did my ring fingernail different just to give it an edge..

Hope you like this.
