Nail Stripping Tapes~!

Striping tapes are just one of the many ways to instantly "up" your nails.
You can just go for a simple lined nail art or you can glam it up by adding lots of different colors, which i did today.

Just thought i'd share with you how to use striping tapes if you don't have any idea about it. Basically, it's just a thin strip of very colorful tape... much like a sticky tape albeit a better-looking one!

It looks like these...

These are from KKCenterhk. They have a wide selection of stripping tapes available in their site. Click HERE to be directed to their page.

What's great about striping tapes is that could last you a long time. You don't need to use a lot when you do nail designs.

I start with an iridescent pink base color.

Then i put in my choice of color combo.

I actually used acrylics here because it dries a lot faster than polishes. Polishes are better because they will give a smooth even finish unlike acrylics, but the drying time is terrible!

Time to start cutting the tapes... I have the laser silver tapes.
I used a tweezer to take the end of the tape then pull it on my desired length.

I then cut it using a clipper...

Depending on your design you can cut it short or long, it's better to cut it long so you'll have enough.

Stick it on your nails like so.
You can apply top coat prior to putting it, i just didn't bother with the top coat since i'm not yet used to maneuvering it. Applying it while top coat is still wet is better because it would be able to hold it down compare to without any TC.

Then cut the edges using your clipper.
Give it a nice trim. Make sure you cut it nicely without any ends splaying out because that will just lift later on & ruin the whole look.

Make sure that the ends are flat on the nails because if it isn't it will just come off easily later on. Use an orange stick to push it to make sure it really sticks. Then finish it off with a top coat!

I just added some flower stickers to complete it.

There are lots of things you could do with striping tapes. If you don't have a steady hand then striping tapes are very handy & would give you the lines that you've always wanted & more!

You can buy it at KKCenterhk.com for less than a dollar.
I say, that this is a pretty cheap product,ne?
Look at their selections of striping tape in this section.

I'll be making more nail designs some day using these tapes.
^_~

Hope you all are having a fine day!
Jaa ne~!

i have nail striping tapes, but i hardly use them! I never feel creative enough to use them these days.. and they're so difficult to deal with for a noob like me! haha, esp when it comes to cutting it right and sticking it down.
i agree that the nail polish takes FOREVER to dry.. and i have almost no patience.. >+<;; such a bad combination!!

I love your nails. they look super cute & wearable :)
