Food Spot:Persia Grill

This restaurant had earned a spot in my stomach.hehe
I never would have tried this restaurant if i didn't buy a voucher but now, i'm glad i did because i will be going back again & again! Walter said so himself...

The one that we've tried is in SM North Edsa Skygarden but i know that they have different branches as well.

Once you entered the premise, you'll be greeted with a homey feeling. It's quite spacious with its high ceiling...

I like how casual the resto is. Often times going in a resto on which everything is so uniformed somehow makes me feel quite cramped but not here.

It just feels like an extension of your house.... seriously! I feel so comfy i even want to just put sit on my feet on the soft plush chair. That's why this is also a nice place to hang out.

Love the lamps!
I would love to dine here in the evening when everything is lit. I'm sure it would look exotic.

They got shishas too.
I asked them how much it is & they said it's just Php 300. That's pretty cheap!
I thought it would be a lot more expensive. I don't want to try it though...i'm just curious...hehe

Let's start with the appetizer...

Salad Oliveyeh - Php 110
Love love love this!
I like how simply delicious this is... served with hot Pita bread.
This is the perfect way to jump start your meal.  You can order more pita bread for only Php 20 i think.

Mozzarella Cheese Puff - Php 95

I love mozzarella... i love cheese puff.
but not this one... the batter got this exotic smokey-flavour that personally is just too strong. It overwhelmed the taste of the cheese.
Maybe if you like strong smokey-flavour you might like this, but i prefer my cheese puff to just have that creamy cheese flavor.

The only salad that we've tried is this...

Tehrani - Php 155

I love my greens.
Vegetable salad is something that i always try but oftentimes salads in restaurants are being drowned in their dressing that i can't appreciate the natural sweetness & crisp of the veggies anymore.

Sadly, that's the case in this..
Consist of lettuce, tomatoes, croutons, cucumber & parmesan cheese... the persian dressing drowned out the vegetables... i'm not sure if i like the combination of grapes & cheese but this is something new.

On we go to their sandwiches...

Beef Shawarma - Php 70

I used to hate shawarmas because the ones that i've tasted so far as too fatty/oily & are laden with onions..lots & lots of it that will surely give you a bad breath.
But this is a delight!

The beef is so tender that every bite seems to just melt in your mouth!
It doesn't have a strong taste... no onions as far as i remember.

I'm half expecting that as i eat it, oil will drip out from the bottom of it wetting the wrapper then finally my hands. But lo! I've already eaten everything & not an ounce of fat! I know for sure because i dissected each bite i took & have been prowling on the inside of it looking for the suspect but there's nothing! Unbelievable!

I love this!
I will definitely be trying out more shawarmas in the future...

Beef Kebab Wrap - Php 99

Now this one is oily...
But if you love beef, you shouldn't miss this!
The taste of beef plays around your mouth in every bite! Again, the beef is really tender!

I can't explain it, but this one is really good.
It is consist of tomatoes & onions but the beef is something!
You have to try this at least once.

Then their Kebab Meals...

Chelo Morg - Php 199

Chicken breast marinated in Persian spice served with grilled tomatoes, long grain rice & their very own eggplant & yogurt dip.

I like how subtle it is on your first bite but as you continue chewing the taste of their exotic spices just burst on your mouth!

Business Meal 1 - Php 120

A stick of beef kebab served with grilled tomato & their dip.
Just a simple meal but it's enough to satisfy you.

Chicken Barbeque - Php 150

Served with Java rice & salad, this one is a big hit on Walter.
He said that it tastes really good!

As for the beverages....

Raspberry Iced Tea - Php 55

Not too strong unlike other iced teas...

Creamy Yogurt Shake - i forgot how much...
I love this one!!!
It's not very tangy but the taste of yogurt is still there.
Very mild & not too sweet!

They also have hot tea... Php 40 (i think)
Walter drank it... i tasted it & it has this ginger-y taste to it..
I hate ginger so i don't like it but he likes it so it's still ok...

You have to try their sandwiches/wrap.
You'll never go wrong!

Though I think that 1 thing they just need to improve on is their service. The servers, though not snobbish, are always huddled together on the counter chit chatting. I just hope that they would somehow do it in a discreet way. At least, they always have a smile every time you call them so it's not bad over-all.

Ambiance - excellent
Presentation - excellent
Taste - quite satisfactory
Service - satisfactory

If you haven't tried any Persian Restaurants yet, i think this is a nice place to start.
It's quite affordable & it hits the spot!

Hope you all are having a great day!

Bobbie's Heavenly Glitz Collection

As promised, here are swatches for the polishes in this new Bobbie Collection, together with some possible 'dupes' from the Deborah Lippman. The thing that makes them different from DL is the amount of glitters but i could say that they could be a cheaper alternative.

L to R:The Big Bang, Star Gazer, Solar Burst & Super Nova

This collection got tons & tons of hexagon-shaped multi-colored glitters on each bottle. Take for the instance the The Big Bang (1st one), you can see how colorful those glitters are on the bottle even without any close-up shots.

Enough with the small talk & let's go straight for the 'meat'.

Let's start with the most 'pigmented' of them all, which is the Super Nova...
Blue Jelly with tons of green hexagon & small round glitters! You can even wear this alone without layering.

See those green glitters?

I love how they put that green glitters to compliment the color of the polish. It looks so nice when you wear them especially if the light reflects on it. This could easily become a favorite of mine it's just that i stay away from dark blue polishes because they stain so bad!

I haven't experienced any staining from this because i just swatched it. I'm not sure if i'll actually be wearing this for even just a day because of the said reason. I'm not ready to risk my nails... they are already 'recovering' from the stains that it got when i still got long nails.

This looks like a great dupe for Deborah Lippman's Across the Universe.

When i used it, i just used it alone but i bet that when you apply a black/dark blue polish over it it could come as close to this or maybe you can use 3 coats, just like what she said HERE to get that really nice opacity.

Way to go, Bobbie!

Then The Big Bang which is black jelly with lots of multi-colored hexagon glitters & millions of small round silver ones.

Well, obviously, you can only layer this on dark polishes & won't look good when worn alone. If you do, it will just look like horrible.

I think this could be a good alternative to Deborah Lippman's Happy Birthday.

It's just that Bobbie has tiny round silver glitters compare to Deborah Lippman is round multi-colored glitters.. hence i just used the word alternative or maybe Milani's Jewel FX Gems too...

The amount of glitters is of course, noticeable. DL's amount is outstanding in just one coat, Bobbie on the other hand is not a lot but you can just build it up anyway.

Next is the Solar Burst which is a gold jelly polish laden with gorgeous multi-colored hexagon glitters (with small green flakies too!) that floats on tiny round yellow pool of glitters!

The name fits this one perfectly... Solar Burst... you'll definitely feel the power of the sun on your nails once it hits the light.

I layered this over a dark polish but i think it will be better if you layer over on a gold or yellow polish since the base formula of this one is yellow/gold. Wearing this alone will just make your nails look like it got a bad stain..like how my ring & pinkie nail looks like. I don't have a bad nail stain anymore but it looks horrible here.

Possible alternative?
I can't believe it... Deborah Lippman's Boom Boom Pow is the closest that i found except that Bobbie has multi-colored hexagon ones while DL only has gold hexagons.

Well, that's the closest that i've found...

Last is the Star Gazer.. my least favorite.

A peachy-pink jelly with chunky silver hexagon-shaped glitters and millions of round opalescent tiny glitters!

I swatched it over a black polish (pointer finger),white polish (middle finger), pale pink polish (ring finger) & just on it's own. It looks nice on it's own.Layering it over pink polish would make the glitters stand out too.

Putting it on white or dark polish doesn't compliment the polish... I just think there's nothing special about this polish because those tiny glitters even though they're opalescent, is not enough to outshine the other3.

Possible dupe?
Hmmm...a bit hard to find one since this is peachy-pink..not really pink..if it's pink it might be comparable to NFU Oh Red Spindle or Color Club's Sakura Glow. In that sense, i can say that this is a unique shade.

This is how they look like with 2-3 thick coats...

I like Super Nova & Solar Burst!
How about you?

Anyway, i think this collection is quite nice.
Each bottle only costs Php 35.50 (less than a dollar) so it's budget-friendly.
Definitely a cheap alternative to expensive polishes! it is also dries a bit fast so it's nice.

I bought mine at Ever Gotesco Grand Central. I know that Bobbie polishes are being sold in Hortaleza. Watson's is not up-to-date with new releases so your best bet is Hortaleza.

My special thanks to one of my facebook beauty sister!
Alam mo na kung sino ka..hehe.
She was the one who informed me about this new collection. Love, love, love our fb talk!
*hugs*

Have a great day!

Spotted:Bobbie Heavenly Glitz Collection

A quick post for my spotted tag.

Bobbie, my favorite local polish brand, has released a new collection called Heavenly Glitz Collection.
I am not a fan of glitter polishes but this is something that i can easily like.

It is consist of 4 polishes that got this outrageous colorful glitters on it! Not just glitters but also flakies as well! It is dee-vine! A keeper especially for those who love glitter polishes!

left to right: The Big Bang, Star Gazer, Solar Burst & Super Nova

I like the names!
It's so galactic! I especially love the Solar Burst & The Big Bang. They are perfect for layering over dark polishes!

I'll be providing swatches tomorrow once i've taken a good picture of everything.

Hope you are enjoying your evening!

PureDerm Intensive Repair Foot Mask Review

I have tried the hand mask from PureDerm & i actually find it quite nice. I have this pack for quite some time but it's only last night that i decided to truly use it. I am not really fond of 'wrapping' my feet when i'm in bed.. not even socks. I only put on socks when i'm either standing or sitting... just not when i'm lying in bed for i like to feel the sheets on my feet.

That's why i always have dry feet & i only buy lotions not for body use but for my feet. How weird can that get? I'm not a fan of foot lotions because i find them too greasy. They always leave that greasy-feeling which i hate because i can't walk with greasy feet, leaving grease-stains on the floor.
*sigh*

I'm not sure but i think this is the only foot mask that is available in the market. If this is, then that's good because if you just feel like pampering yourself at home then this would be a great product to try!

Anyway, this is how it looked like

I'm sure you've seen this in leading department stores... Maybe you're even wondering if it's worth spending your money in this pack, huh?

This is what's at the back...

At least they have pictures on how to use it..lol!

The top part has the plastic wrap & the sticker...

.. which is definitely gigantic!
Even your man could use this & you won't have to worry if it will fit him because it will! Trust me in on this...

The bottom part has the mask...

& it's also huge. I thought at first it would be oozing with serums or lotions but i guess it's just enough for the mask itself... no excess fluid that you could slather for that extra moisture.

You put the mask first... then wrap it with plastic.. then of course you secure it with the sticker that was provided.

Wait for 20-30mins then you're done!

You may keep it overnight if you want to. Well, as what i said since i don't like anything on my feet when i'm in bed i just kept it on for 20 mins.

I'm happy to say that it indeed made my feet softer & moisturized... for a limited time, that is. hehe

Well, what can i say?
It doesn't have that greasy-feel so it's nice!

I think their formulation is quite light hence it was absorbed by the skin easily but the effect that you get will just be temporary. In my case, it's just for a few hours at most. Anyway, i have a very dry feet so i guess that's why the effect just didn't last on me. I guess if you're feet is not as dry as mine, then it might even last for a whole day!

But i like how it smells!
It has this sweet fruity smell that is not overwhelming. You know how some foot lotions got this atrocious smell that made you feel like you had the worst smelling-feet because it's so heavily-laden with perfume that gags you every time you slather it on. Well, this one is not. it's so subtle that it just feels like it's tickling your senses to relaxation!

I think i remember seeing this in Watsons for Php80+ a pop. You decided if it's cheap or not.

With that said...
PROS:

  • locally available
  • instant effect
  • smells nice
  • doesn't feel greasy
  • easily absorbed by the skin
CONS:
  • temporary effect
  • didn't really provide my feet with the moisture that it needed
Will i buy again?
Nah, once is enough.. twice is too much!
LOL!

I think this is a nifty product if you are into masks. I'll just stick with my mystery lotion in providing the needed moisture for my dry feet.

Have a great day,hunnies!

Polish Pick:The Face Shop BK901

This is the last polish that i was able to swatch on my nail before i cut it short.

It also took me a while in swatching this because i am having a hard time taking a pic of it in with it's glitter-effect. It is only obvious when it is in broad daylight, not in the evening though. You can see that blue-green-ish glittery-effect but not really a rainbow-ish just like what i thought it would look like in the bottle.

At least the glitters are not chunky so it's good. As for the drying time, i'm not sure. I don't really like waiting until it dries completely that i top it off with Seche Vite after a couple of minutes to make sure that it dries fast. So i don't really know how fast/slow this dries.

What's another nice thing about this is that it is quite pigmented. I did this with just 2 coats!

For those who wants to try this, you can purchase it at The Face Shop for Php 199. As what i keep on saying before, i hate the labeling of shades in Korean cosmetics/products. They use codes so again, this is BK901.

I have to catch up with posts, i hope i'll be able to continue blogging for this month.
I'll do so after watching Karigurashi No Arrietty. hehe

Have a great day/evening!

Weekend Nails:Girly Pink for short nails

Yes!
A nail design for short nails! Quickie post again...

As what i said before, i cut my nails short for i am sick & tired of seeing my nails with very bad stain. I do miss my long nails but i seem to have miss more the things that i can do when i have short nails. I love scalp massages when i shampoo my hair & also being able to type a lot easier now!

On to the nail art...

This design is better for short nails.
It would look kinda boring in a way if you it with long nails, but then that's just my personal thought.

As always, i leave the choice of colors to you.
You can go for white & blue, black & white, baby pink & hot pink, etc.

You will be needing:
  • base/top coat
  • 2 base colors
  • striping brush/brush that as long thin bristles
  • dotting tool - i lost mine so i just used bobby pin
Instructions:
1. Base Coat first, of course. Then apply the lightest color as your base color first. As what you can see, i did my middle nail the opposite color. It's up to you if you want to do this or just have everything look equal. Then when it's dry, apply a strip of the opposite color in the middle of the nail like so.

2. To do the crisscross design, you will be needing a striping brush. Do one line first then connect it by crisscrossing it to the other.

3. To do the dots & hearts, then a dotting tool is needed. Again, i just used bobby pin because my dotting tool is missing. Making a heart design is quite easy.

4. Top it off with your favorite top coat! It's up to you if you want do all these or just stick with one.

There you go!
An easy nail art for short nails!

No need for make -up! As what i said before... "Nail Polish is my dress, Nail Art is my Accessory!"
hehehe

Hope you are enjoying your sunday, sweeties!

Etude House Miss Tangerine Follow Me Tint

A long overdue post!

I purchased this way back when the Miss Tangerine Collection of Etude House was released. I almost forgot to do this review because i seem to have misplaced it.hehehe. I know it was here in my room but i just didn't exactly know where it is! LOL! Good thing my mum found it a couple of days ago.hehe

I didn't really have a plan to purchase anything from this collection but i just thought that this one is interesting because this is one of those that changes as you apply, or so what the SA said.

This is the description at the back... sorry if it's blurry. Took this picture ages ago & i already threw the box!

It's good that it has SPF 13,ne?

The packaging looks pretty nice,right?
But all those dots will disappear due to everyday wear & tear. I know because mine doesn't even have any dots left on it!LOL!

This is how it looks like...

That orange balm looks unique. It might look quite scary at the tube but it's quite sheer. It's very wearable that almost everybody can wear it!

This is how it looks like when swatched...

See the color change after 10 minutes?
It really does change! It will be rosier as it sits on the skin but not to the point that it will go red. Just from orange-ish to pink-ish.

See?
The change is quite subtle for me because my lips are pigmented but for those whose lips are not pigmented, this would be very lovely!

I like the texture because it doesn't leave a waxy feeling that is quite gross in a way. It feels quite light. I will not say that this is hydrating but it does a decent job of locking in the moisture & adding a hint of moisture in a way... as long as it's still there.

But it won't really adapt to your lip color because it will just have 1 color.
It just depends on how pigmented your lips are. So again, the more pigmented your lips are the more subtle the change in the color is (like mine). As for it claiming it as "changes shade according to your passion", i think that's just a false advertising.

Mood changing products?!
Will it change to black if i'm fiercely mad?
Will it change to red if i am feeling passionate?
Will it change to pink if i'm feeling happy?
Will it change to blue if i'm feeling sad?
Will it change to green if i'm feeling more "eco-ey"?

I tried wearing this when it's hot or cold, mad or sad, happy or glad but it's just the same so please, give us ,consumers, a break with such claims! We're not daft!

This is not really a groundbreaking product but i think in a way it's quite unique. An orange lip balm? It's quite a novelty if i may say so.
On which, i know Etude House has another Follow Me Tint in Vary Pink which is a teal-colored balm.
Does anyone know if it's available here in the Philippines as well?

As always, i'll leave the price for you to decide whether it's a cheap or not.. It's sold as Php 298 per tube.

PROS:
  • has SPF 13
  • no waxy feeling
  • cute packaging
  • locally available
  • really changes color but still very wearable
  • leaves a nice stain on the lips
CONS:
  • will not change depending on your mood
Will i buy it again?
Nah. One tube is enough.
But if the Vary Pink Follow Me tint is available here i might purchase it.

Post-acne picture...
told you, i purchased this way back!

June is finally over!
June was a terrible month for me! I'm hoping that July will be a better one!

Hope you'll have a relaxing weekend,hunnies!

Ever Bilena Love That Red & Off Beat Pink Lipsticks

I love red lipsticks!
I think a lot of you knows that. I like how quick & easy it gives you that made-up look without going to the trouble of doing your eye make-up.

When i spotted this on the department store i just said to myself that i ought to try matte lipsticks again. I used to have Ever Bilena in Skin but i gave it to my grandma. Since it's very affordable i decided to get 2.

Matte Pink & Matte Red...

What can  say?
They're matte... They are drying so you would need to make sure that you hydrate your lips before you go to sleep (if you plan to use this the next morning-especially if you have the type of lips that chaps like crazy!) & also use a moisturizing lip balm underneath.

The swatch of course...

Then on the right side of the pic, i applied a gloss over it so you'll see how gorgeous it looks with gloss on. I used MAC Dazzleglass Rags to Riches.

I'm not really into matte pinks because i notice that me using a light colored lipstick in matte formula just makes the chapping of my lips too obvious it looks like a real disaster so i don't really reach for this lipstick as often as i do for the Love That Red shade.

The Love That Red would leave you with a great reddish even tint so even if it's gone it won't too that. Hey, i tried wearing some red lipsticks before without any retouch & it just doesn't look that nice for the edges of your lip would still have color but not the real lip. I look horrendous!

I would like to be able to post a whole face pic but i notice that lately my face has this redness on it & i don't have a green primer at hand to cover it up so i'm sorry ladies.

I'll just use these in my next eyelook posts then i'll link it up.

For only Php 99 ($2) a pop, you get a decent matte lipstick with a pretty nice pigmentation. I know that they have a couple of neutral shades but for some reason some color just doesn't compliment me. I think these 2 are the only ones that called my name.

PROS:
  • locally available
  • affordable
  • great pigmentation
  • locally made so designed specifically for filipinas!
CONS:
  • can make your lips dry (make sure you apply a lip balm underneath)
  • might not be available internationally

Will i buy again?
If there would be a nice shade that would compliment me, why not?!
^_~

Have you ever tried Ever Bilena lipsticks?
Any favorites?
How about matte lipsticks?

Enjoy the day,sweeties!

the much hyped-about lotion

I don't usually go with the hype of what's new or what's not whenever there is a new thing on the blogging world. In fact, i mostly stick with my routine posts like hauls, reviews & tutorials... my loyal readers would attest to that. I'm not also a fan of lotions because i perspire a lot & slathering lotion just makes my skin feel suffocated....ugh!

But this i got to post because i am a believer & user of this lotion & i swear that it does work!

You know why?
Last week when it has been raining endlessly & our backyard was flooded. The bad thing is that we cook at our backyard too. It's not really high but it kept my feet submerged in water most of the time & it took a toll on my poor feet for a few days of doing that.

awwww... my poor feet!
T_T

My usual baby lotion just isn't enough to bring back the lost moisture because of the constant beating that my feet experienced in those wet days. The only thing that worked for me whenever i would have any dry skin problem is to slather heavy moisturizing creme on any part & it instantly restores the moisture. But the thing that i don't like about it is that it's toooooooooooooo heavy & greasy!

I don't want to put on socks because i feel that the creme is just being absorbed by the socks not my feet, so when i slather on creme i look stupid because my feet are always elevated up until the creme has been completely absorbed. Afterward, i would have to massage my feet to make sure that i work it in.

Now, in comes this lotion....
Sorry about the picture but i think this will give you an idea of how effective this is

See that?!
In just mere minutes with just a small amount it transformed my poor battered feet to it's usual baby soft skin!
I la la la la la lav this product!
It is very effective!!!!

But you know, i'm not a fan of the scent...
It has this milky artificially-sweet scent that made me gag the first time that i used it. Now i'm used to it anyway, it's not the type that gives me headache & it really does work so i don't care!

Wanna know what this product is?
I'll tell you in a few days!
^_~

Hope you are enjoying your friday!
Jaa ne~!

ps:
i cut my nails short now so there won't be as much nail art posts as i did before..hehe
but i'll try to come up with something once in a while. im tired of looking at my stained nails so i figured it's time for them to take a long rest.

Believe in B.liv's Dump Off Drawn! I do!

I was contacted by B.liv weeks ago to try out their products. I have been so lazy in applying any skin care products lately that I can alrea...
