Foreword:
this is gonna be an emotional outburst from me so expect my long & boring tale. If you're dying to know the winner feel free to scroll down click the link to see who.
I said that i'll be on hiatus for the time being to at least give some time & respect (or whatever you call it) for the crisis that my country is experiencing at the moment. As what i said, i won't be posting any beauty related stuff for this is my way of being one with my country that's why i decided to post the comment winner now rather than risk me forgetting all about it because of the hullabaloo.
For my real followers, i posted one secret giveaway a few days ago. My secret giveaway is only for those who really follow my blog. I wanna thank the people who continually support me. Much as i would love to give each & everyone a thank you token,i can't.
Originally, i plan to actually have 4 secret giveaways as a way to celebrate my birthday. But ever since the disaster happened, i just decided to give the money that i plan to spend on my giveaways to the people who are needy. There would be lots more time where i can do my giveaways, but i think now it's better if i help my own country first & foremost.
I'm sorry if there are some people that expected my giveaways (for i hinted before that i would be having some). But my priority is my country...
You see, no matter how many people denies being a Filipino....
*cough*Jacque Bermejo issue*cough*,
even if other people think that we're nothing but monkeys....
*cough*UglyYubin twitter issue*cough*
I stand tall & proud that even if we were hit by any crisis, we can still laugh & give each other hope!
A while ago, when i went to the post office, one woman that i always talked to, told me that their house up until now is flooded...& the worst part is, it's not water, but it's mud. As we were talking, she was telling me the ordeal that she went through...but you know what... as she were narrating it, i can see her relief that all the members of her family is safe. She was smiling amidst the tears because she knows that no amount can compare to her family's safety.
I am gathering all the spare things that we have here so that i can give it to her as soon as i can. She is just one of the hundreds of thousands of people during the flood. I watched the news this evening & i can see people smiling & still making a joke of what happened. How can i turn my back on people like this?
After the typhoon Ketsana, there is another one that is looming ahead & it's said to be a super typhoon. I hope that you help us utter a prayer that it won't be as strong as it was predicted. My countrymen is just starting to stand up from the blow that we experienced, we don't need another one.
Ok, on to the winner...

Now that's what I love about us Filipinos. Despite all the hardship goin' on, we could still manage to smile. :D
And welcome back sis, now it's my turn to be MIA for a couple of days, or weeks. ;)
No worries.. Love reading what people have to say.. Their thoughts, feelings; it's a good wa to vent & not really, talk about it, but at least write.. I still have some family in the Philippines, but they're doing ok. So much is going on & I haven't heard much lately. It's good you're talking about it. Take care!
I know it's so sad.....We're praying for everyone in asia...it's nice of u to help out thia.....I know what we are able to give is just a small amount for what is needed...u take care...
Thia, take as much time as you'd like. I, too am so scared about the SUPER TYPHOON! OMG!
My friends in manila are plurking and messaging like crazy.
Please do take care. My prayers are with you :(
well, congrats to Becky! If I looked at it right...
I don't see why people wouldn't have pride being Filipino (did I spell that right?). I see a lot of gorgeous ladies who are Filipino and should be proud of their ethnicity! I hope the super typhoon doesn't cause more problems =[ Having a house flood with mud is one of the worst thing you can ever imagine.... that's really hard to get rid of. Plus, another one coming? Yikes! I can totally understand why you're giving the money to help the people in your country who needs help. I'm glad you are! You're such a kind lady and a role model for many! I hope everyone stays safe and you to stay safe too! Take care. I'll be waiting for you to post a blog about how everyone is safe and sound =]
congrats becky! i know what you mean about ondoy. i'm so thankful that everyone i know is safe.
so true, I feel so proud I live in this country, imagine, after losing their homes, they can still smile because the whole family is safe...I love being a Filipino, I love how cheerful we are and positive amidst life crisis
me too, i am so proud of being a filipino!
We are one!
You're right, it's so inspiring to see everyone helping everyone else.:)
Congrats to the winner!:)
Oh sweetheart! Happy birthday! God bless you! =D
A lot of videos on youtube of the flood victims still smiling and trying to find something to smile about. Very Filipino. I was also overwhelmed last sunday when I went to the grocery to find that most people were panic buying on relief goods for victims!
Happy birthday, Thiamere. :) And yes, agree with what you said! Filipinos are an optimistic bunch. :) So proud to be a Filipina.
