Rainbow Favorites Challenge:GREEN & BLUE

Sorry, my internet was down yesterday so i wasn't able to post my favorite green so i'll just include the 2 colors together. I already made a post about this & they are worth mentioning again.

I love my Ebalay polishes! They are duochromes & you layer then over a dark polish, specifically black, for you to see their awesomeness.

First is my favorite green polish...

You can click HERE to be directed my original post.

Then my choice of blue is still Ebalay...
I know it doesn't look blue on the bottle but when swatched it looks awesome!

Click HERE for the original post. See the shift of colors?! Lovely!

Rainbow Favorites Challenge:YELLOW

Day 3 of the Rainbow Favorites Challenge... so we are on the third color of the rainbow-YELLOW!

My favorite is still my Island Cocktail franken.

I'm pretty partial to this just because im not that much on yellows & glitters the time i made this but this had been my favorite ever since.

I think you could understand why, right?
I applied 2 coats of this without any top coat. See how shiny it looks like on its own?!

Me like this so much!
^_^

I don't even need to put on any additional design on this just because this looks beautiful by itself already!

So,what do you think about my choice?
Have a happy Wednesday!
^_^

Rainbow Favorites Challenge:ORANGE

Day 2 of the Rainbow Favorites Challenge.
Next color... ORANGE!

I told you guys before that i never did like orange... so i only have a few orange polishes. This one is my current favorite though.

Another local polish!
OMG in Sunset
A really gorgeous red orange creme polish. This dries really fast!

This is taken indoors & the color is pretty much is the same. This is with 2 coats by the way. hehe

Then a quick nail art!
took me less than 5 minutes to paint these on my nails.

There ya go!
What's your favorite orange polish?

Have a great day,hunnies!

Rainbow Favorites Challenge:RED

I joined the rainbow favorites posted by Bec of Lacquer Dreams.
Since i don't get to post as much as i want to, so this challenge would also be a fun way to keep my blog updated at least once a week.

First color is Red.
I have a lot of reds but this is one polish that i am recently loving our local polish, Chic Grainy in Siam.

If you are not familiar with sand polishes, ill try & describe it as much as i can though it's gonna be hard because this is a whole new different finish. Excuse the dry cuticles. I just removed my faux nails so i haven't gotten around to cleaning it yet.

Basically sand polishes are jampacked with very fine yet gritty glitters that lends it a matte-ish appearance. Since the glitters are so fine it's quite smooth to the touch. I find it charming since you get to appreciate each & every one of those grains as the light hits them. They're pretty much like how tiny stars twinkle up up in the sky! Here is the close-up look.

It basically looks just like how it is in the bottle.

This is a lot easier to remove compare with ordinary glitter polishes so this is my current favorite!
If you haven't tried sand/grainy polishes yet then you have to! It's absolutely divine! It's sparkly without being ridiculously shiny that blinds you. LOL!

What's your favorite red polish?
Care to share?

Hope you all are gonna have a lucky week!

Holographic Top Coat!

Yes! I am finally able to make my own holographic top coat without making it look cloudy. Finally!
Here is the swatch

After much experimenting im glad i was able to finally make one. I hate it when i cant appreciate the color of my base because the holo top coat is cloudy.

I'm not sure but i think i could make a couple more of it & maybe sell some for those who wanted to have a holo top coat (this is for philippine-based buyers only). What do you think?

Hope you all will have a good day!

Sassy Golden Plum-my favorite plum polish!

Sorry for being MIA, i have a couple of things that needed my attention. I have a couple of new students so i haven't fully adjusted my schedule yet, but im already working on it.

I went to Hortaleza last Sunday & i saw this really gorgeous plum polish.

I'm not a fan of plum polishes but this one is something that just called me. I knew that i had to have it & i was right! As soon as i swatched it, it was L-O-V-E!

It has that golden shimmer that gives it a dimensional look. Look at how awesome it is under the sun.

This is a 2 coater polish & it dries pretty fast too!
Me loves it!
Here is a close-up look of it.

It's rare that i only have a base color, i mostly put nail art but this is something that i am enjoying! I'll put a design on it later but for now i'll enjoy the simplicity yet the fabulous-ness of it!

If you are looking for a nice plum polish, you have to try this one!

Have you tried Sassy polishes?
i am loving this polish brand already!

Hope you are having a great day!

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Review

Primer... a product that not a lot of beginners know of.
A product that i've received tons of questions of.

What exactly is a primer?
Basically make-up primer acts as a barrier of your skin from the make-up. It also makes the foundation adhere on to your sin a lot better. Though there are a lot more benefits that each & every primer has but the main purpose of a primer are the said 2 reasons.

Now, let's talk about this primer that had received lots of raves from make-up mavens.
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Make-up Base.

Housed in a cute red glass jar, this little gal could easily become your best friend! It comes with a free tiny spatula.

You can read the leaflet that was included on it. Just click it for a bigger image...

Here is the ingredients list:

A silicone-based primer!
I know i said before that silicone breaks me out but i just feel like this primer could make a difference.

This is how it looks like...
It's fragrance-free & goes invisible when you apply it on your skin.

Since it's silicone-based, it glides smoothly on the skin. It could easily smooth out uneven surface like scars, blemished areas & open pores. As what some users say, it makes the skin "as smooth as a baby's bottom" & i agree! It does make the skin velvety-smooth!

A little goes a long way!
I hope you'll be able to see the difference of how it looks like with it on. If you took a closer look, you'll see the fine lines almost disappearing. I took the pic right after i applied it. I should have given it a few minutes to settle before pictorial.

The difference might not be obvious but you can feel how this fills up your pores!

As for my thoughts...
I did not experience any major breakouts but it did cause whiteheads on continued use. I can't use it for everyday, but it's ok since i mostly just stay at home. I make sure that i have this on when i go out just because i like how smoothly i can apply my foundation on, i think it prevents splotches & caking too because it really makes the foundation adhere on your skin better.

Now, no matter how this makes my skin really smooth it turns me off (not the whitehead-causing problem). It doesn't have any oil-control at all. tsk! What a shame! Every time i put this on, i have to make sure that i have oil films or a pack of facial tissue. It seems like this makes my skin oil up more, maybe that's the cause of my whiteheads.

I don't have any problem with it before when i still got combination skin but since it has become too hot lately, my skin went from combination to oily. *sigh*

So i would only recommend this for girls with normal or dry skin only.

I got mine on StrawberryNet. You can click HERE.

PROS:
  • diminishes fine lines, wrinkles & enlarged pores instantly!
  • scent-free
  • disappears on the skin! no color that could alter your foundation
  • locks moisture on the skin; won't ever make your skin feel dry
  • includes a spatula
  • packaging is really sturdy!
  • a little goes a long way
CONS:
  • no oil-control
  • could cause whiteheads (imo)
  • might be expensive (but it's worth it!)
Will i buy it again?
Nah, this could last forever on me because you just need a very little amount to cover the skin.

Will i recommend it?
Well, i would really love this if only this has oil-control but that doesn't stop me from loving this because i can now understand why most girls go ga-ga over this. It is a great primer for normal/dry skinned girls but sadly, not for oil-skinned ladies like me.
:(

Have you tried this?
What's your favorite primer?

Hope you all have a good day!

the best nail patch that i've tried!!!!!

I hate nail patches!
But that was before, now i am loving this certain nail patch that i've tried.

If you have tried nail patches, you'll know how it could only last for mere hours. How awful is that?!

Remember the post that i made before about the nail foil patch?
It was so hard to apply yet it didn't even last for more than a day! Definitely not worth buying & trying!

So when Jessie Rhee of Dress Up Ur Nails contacted me & asked me to try out her nail patch, i was in doubt. I frankly told her that im not in awe of nail patches. I'd rather do my own nail art than be bothered (by cutting the patches that doesn't even fit my nails) by it.

I asked her if her product can withstand an everyday wear & tear & she said that it does. I asked her that as a consumer & not as a seller, by the way. Since she said that it does, so i said 'ok,let me try your product then'. Though i honestly still have doubts over it. I'm quite hard to please because my standard is a bit high. But let me tell you, this nail patch blew me away!

It lasted for a week!
I think it can even last for another week if i just didn't get tired of it. I took it off with it being intact. No chip or tear! Seriously!

The design looks cute, huh? This design is Snow Pink!

I really like it!
Lots of people kept saying how cute my nails are the whole time i had these on. I never let one design stay on my nails for more than 2 days (unless im sick or the effort that it took me to make a design makes it worth keeping) but i happily kept this patch on not just simply for testing purpose but because it's so cute!

Anyway, i'll tell you my experience....
This is how it looks like.

This is the back, with the instructions...

Then the patches itself.

Yep there are 16 individual patches in all, the purpose for that is you can choose what fits your nails best. I told you that the patches that i've tried were awful just because they're all in the same sizes so i have to painstakingly cut them one by one.

But in this case, you can choose what fits your nails best.
Plus, one good thing about this is that it doesn't end with you using the whole patch for your nail, you can maximize it & use the remaining stickers to make a french tip!

See?!
Isn't that getting more than what you pay for?!
Just think about it, one set could yield you like 3 full uses for all ten nails.
A-all ten nails with whole patches
B-just use them on your tips for a funky french tip
C-play around by donning whole patches with french tip alternately

Since this is a sticker, you don't have to worry about nail stains!
Yay for that!

It's very easy to apply too! Click for bigger image.

1. Make sure that the nail is clean & free of oil or dirt.
2. Choose a patch that fits your nail.
3. Pinch the edge of the patch where it ends so you can dislodge it.
4. Peel it off the plastic backing. Make sure you don't touch the back of it to prevent any oil from your fingers transferring on it.
5. Lay it on the middle of the nail like so.
6. Carefully stick it on one side of your nail, making sure that there are no air bubbles trapped. It could affect the longevity of it.
7. Do the same on the other side. Make sure you DO NOT STRETCH THE STICKER!
8. Fold the remaining sticker on the edge of your nail like so.
9. Gently file the excess away. the keyword is GENTLY file it.
10. Then you're done! You could apply top coat if you want to, but it's ok to skip it too.
You can also watch this video if you want to see it in real time.

I applied top coat just once, when i applied it. Oh, i didn't put top coat on my thumb though. I said i had it on for a whole week & they're still good.
I'll show you...

Day 3:

Day 5:

Day 7:

I spilled polish on it when i was frankening that's why it has that ugly dark patch but as u can see, it's day 7 already but it still looks nice!

This is on my left hand, on my right hand it was still the same!
It's just that my right nails are short so i didn't take a pic of it but it's my dominant hand & the patches was still intact! Sugoi!

It was able to withstand my everyday activities like washing dishes, cutting vegetables, drumming my nails on the wall/table, scratching, etc. I'm not sure if this could last if you'll do heavy hand activities like washing clothes but if it's simple household chores, it would last.

I highly recommend this!

Now, one thing that might turn you off is the price.
It's a bit expensive. It's sold for Php 489 each. But these are highly quality stickers. Unfortunately i don't know from material its made of, Jessie said that it's a korean nail patch. I don't have an idea at first what is it but when i have seen for myself what it is, i knew that these are not one of those cheap stuff that you can buy anywhere. This is unique!

I had these stickers that my korean student gave me before & it's made of the same material. It's actually on my monitor & i can take it off & put it back on whenever i want to. It's like plastic & silicone. You can stretch the material to fit your nails. But don't stretch it too much,ok? hehe
You don't wanna stretch the design.

If you compare it with Sally Hansen Salon Effect, i think this is still better for the reason that i stated above. You could maximize it because it would allow you to be able to use it in different ways. Can SH patches do that?

PROS:
  • quick - just minutes away from awesome-looking nails!
  • easy - just stick it on & you're good to go!
  • long-lasting - the picture speaks for itself,ne?
  • no stains - goodbye,yellow nails!
CONS:
  • expensive at first - but worth your money!
  • might not be available internationally - Jessie, do you ship internationally?
  • it has that funky naphthalene smell upon opening the package - it disappears later on

Will i buy it? Yes! No questions about it!
Will i recommend it? I do! two-thumbs up!

I would gladly spend Php489 for these patches. I can vouch for this product & how effective & easy this is!
Definitely worth your money! If you want to try nail patches, pls try this, you won't want to try other patches anymore, that's for sure! I also have Romantic Lace Nude but i'll be keeping it for now. I kinda missed doing nail arts but if im in a hurry, I know i will be reaching for it!

They have an ongoing promo now:

**BUY 1 nail patch, GET FREE 1 heartshaped nail file + 1 cuticle pusher
**BUY 2 nail patches GET FREE 1 Black Nail file + 2 cuticle pusher

Do check out these patches! It's gonna take you only minutes in having that glam-looking nails!
Click HERE to take a look at different designs that she has.
By the way, when you open the packet you'll see a strip of sticker on it, you'll use it to seal the packet. ^_~

Have you tried nail patches?

Have a great day,ladies!

Believe in B.liv's Dump Off Drawn! I do!

I was contacted by B.liv weeks ago to try out their products. I have been so lazy in applying any skin care products lately that I can alrea...
